Comics Amazing Spider-Man #595 - #599 "American Son" spoilers/discussion

did i miss the end of this arc, when is it released, the last on i got ended with harry putting the suit on

I think it's out tomorrow or next week...

How does no-one recognize Peter with over half his mask gone?! :wow:

lol you better be careful for your common sense around these parts....

LOL seriously though, my theory is that Harry will find out (again) once american son concludes.

Norman wasn't facing Peter when his mask was being ripped off. He was behind him before Harry confronted him and stopped him from pulling the mask off. That's how I took it at least.

EDIT: I totally skimmed over the preview. my bad.
EDIT( AGAIN): No one is even facing Peter. There more concerned with each other.

Also, unless you see his face entirely, you'll think it's someone else...

I can't remember or not, but in the freak arc didn't he remove his costume because he didn't want to risk being seen with his mask all torn up?

It was when he first met freak in that building with the hilarious "DRRUUUUUUUGGGSSSS" scene.

Aloha,
I think it safe to say that if Stark had the Iron Spider suit wired, Norman has the American Son suit wired as well. Harry better take that thing off before he blows up.Looking forward to the conclusion and ON TO #600:woot::word:
Spidey rules

That's what I was thinking as well.
Norman is way to obsessive to just let Harry have free reign with power.
He considers him too weak to make his own choices. Especially since he really forced him to become American son in the first place. :yay:

What is this mess? Who is the guy in the stupid REd, White, and Blue costume? Why is Nixon on the alternate cover? Why does nobody in that comic not know anything?

I really hope what happens at the end of this arc is that Doctor Octopus breaks in and he and Norman Osborn continue their battle from Marvel Knights Spider-Man # 12, which I am still highly upset about how that fight ended.

Then Otto KILLS Norman and that ends the arc. Because while I am enjoying the American Son arc, much like I have been enjoying Brand New Day, Norman Osborn is like dog crap...he's everywhere.

Nah, it'll never happen. Norm is too profitable a character for Marvel.

And he'd kick Otto's fat butt.:hehe:

Or in mid fight they will both get struck by lightning again. :whatever:

Norman is the new wolverine. He's not going anywhere.
They've pretty much killed the prospect of him dying.

The only things that keep him interesting is what he'll do next, how he'll do it, and how will he be taken out of power.
His portrayal thus far has been great though. So the exposure really doesn't bother me.

It really didn't bother me until maybe about a month or so ago. He seemed to be in about every Marvel book I read that month. I thought his portrayal in the Thunderbolts by Ellis/Deodato was awesome and I liked the whole Secret Invasion part and how he rose to power. Very well done. But I think they are really starting to over do it now.

NOrman vs. Otto. That'd be epic, lol!

Honestly, though, they can't kill Norman. He's a HUGE part of things right now.

LOL the exact opposite bothered me a little! that he had been in every book except for ASM. :woot:

Say don't you think it was kinda weird how in 24/7 Peter was like "somethings bothering me.....Oh yeah! Norman Osborn is in power, when he REALLY shouldn't be."

I thought that was kinda weird. I'm sure someone might bring up the argument that Peter had other things on his mind, but c'mon this is the guy that killed his first love. :o

I do agree about Thunderbolts though. Awesome book. Warren ellis is the man, I love that line about Gwen. Pure Norman. He really understands the character.

current t-bolts is pretty badass too, I'm loving norman in there, and ghost, how kick ass is ghost. He's like an evil question.

Yeah, it was strange not having Peter acknowledge things sooner in ASM. Though Norman did appear in New Ways to Die. Not too much interaction but I think they were keeping them apart for a reason, and I suppose American Son is the reason. But Peter did seem to have a lot of his mind what with being framed for murder and his Aunt banging J. Jonah Jamesons dad. :o

Yeah I know some people were really shocked by that whole Aunt May horizontal mambo situation.

I thought it was very plausible. Aunt May's deal with mephisto wasn't done in vein. :cwink:.

:o.....

does is annoy anyone that after all this time norman and harry are finally fighting and there is not a goblin in sight

Heh. That kind of is an interesting observation. Though Norman is trying to distance himself from the Goblin because of his public persona now, plus he went out of his way to prove that he wasn't the Goblin.

Though it is quite a twist that the two Green Goblins are fighting in, pretty much, Iron Man armor.

Read part 5... good story.

Better than the other "big" arcs... solid ending as well.

:yay:
