One previewer said that the Rhino battle that was shown felt a bit uninspiring. However, he said only positive things about everything else and was very optimistic about the game.
How uninspired

It's funny cuz the bane fight in AA reminded me of The Rhino from neversoft's game.
Minus the snappy patter, and that boss fight being boss exclusive
  • Seriously, the Rhino fight in the Neversoft game is done against Rhino alone, hit him or let him bump into stuff (gas barrels and the expensive equipment)
  • The fight against Bane is something you keep doing against every inflated thug
I'd never put them on par

I don't think we've heard anyone say anything bad about the demo so far. It's been pretty much unanimously praised.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This is honestly my underdog game of the year. This is the only game on my watch list that can go either way.

What other games are on your watch list?

Prototype 2, Max Payne 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, Darksiders 2, The Last of Us, Halo 4, Resident Evil 6, Bioshock Infinite, and Aliens: Colonial Marines. These are the games I'm most likely buying this year.

I'm also looking forward to Assassin's Creed 3, next CoD, next MoH, next NFS, Hitman Absolution, Far Cry 3, and Patriots; but those games are the ones I ask for my b-day and Christmas, since the Fall and Winter are packed with tons of games I can't afford and have time to play.

I'm with you on Prototype 2, RE6, and AC3

i remember a preview guy saying the same, though the reply from beenox was that that particular previewer hadnt got to see the entire battle

:S
That makes me even more skeptical

Unanimous praise makes you skeptical? How does that work? I'm withholding judgement until I see some unedited gameplay. Period. Talk is still talk...the proof is in the pudding.

Pretty good year in terms of games. I can't wait til E3.

According to Dee Brown's Tweet we'll be getting a playable demo of TASM. It's only 2 months away and the neat thing is TASM comes out only 2-3 weeks after that. So if we really like what we see, the wait will be short at that point.

  • Web of Shadows: Got pretty decent amount of praise, it should receive quadruple the amount of barf SM3 got. Too repetitive, $#%^ story, and $#%^ character treatment
  • Batman Arkham Asylum: Best Superhero game (until BAC was launched), it's fine, but it's nothing better than good, no tricks, nice graphics and story, but instead of being fresh in gameplay it gets more monotonous. Fairly decent, not a great game
  • Shattered Dimensions: Best Spider-Man to date and whatsnot. Made better treatment than WoS did for characters, miles better, but it's awful and too repetitive, fun as a cartoon to watch, not so as a game to play

Yeah, not going to look forward to a game, nor will I look down at it. Same rule applies to most things in all media
Superman 700 (fun) >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Batman 700 ($#%^)

A playable demo at E3, or a demo we can download?

At E3. There's been no mention of a downloadable demo and I highly doubt we'll get one. But the playable demo at E3 should be more than enough of a glimpse of the gameplay to make some judgement.

Fair enough. I'll remain postive for both of us then, :woot:

What's Superman 700 and Batman 700?
Issue No. 700 of each
Superman 700 has 4 stories, they are fun, different team on each story
Batman 700 has one story, one writer and four artists working on it, and has the stupid mystery of Joker's journal with the answer painfully in their reach, but somehow 3 generations of Batmen couldn't solve it

Oh... yeah I kinda know nothing about comics. TV Shows, games, movies, and Wikipedia are the places where I get my info on my heroes. I do have a Marvel Unlimited Subscription, but I don't read the comics that much.

Well, if you start reading comics, have fun with them, they usually deliver better stories regarding their star characters than other sources of media has to offer
I've been meaning to ask you for a while; is your name inspired by the Raam from Spider-Man Unlimited?

No, General RAAM from Gears of War, my favorite game franchise.

Halo 4 and AC3 i LOVE Assassin´s Creed series:woot: and Probably The Amazing Spiderman depending on the Reviews:oldrazz:
Until fair reviews are released for comic book games: F*** reviews

Hopefully E3 will also feature several stage demos of Amazing Spider-Man on sites like IGN and Gamespot. That's where they showed off Edge of Time at last year's E3 and Shattered Dimensions the year before. Even Batman Arkham City was not shown off publicly until the stage demos at E3. A demo was shown to the press in March last year I believe, and several preview articles were written describing it. Then pretty much the same demo was shown at E3 as the first public showing of Arkham City.

Apparently everyone structures their big demos around E3, no matter when the game itself is coming out later that year. It's worse for TASM because the game's release date is so close to E3 itself. As long as there are several more trailers and that behind the scenes video they mentioned released before E3, I'll be fine.

If the game is good, I'm sure it'll get mostly good reviews, but there might be some people that give it a bad review. I like to decide for myself whether a game is good or bad, so even if I do read a review before getting a game, I take it with a grain of salt.

you just won the internet

Yeah but AA got its fair share of criticism about the boss fights as well.

How uninspired

They felt it was exactly like how you've always battled Rhino (which is pretty funny 'cause you did that only in Spider-Man (PSX) and Spider-Man 2 for PC if I remember correctly). But I have no doubt that it will be an epic fight and as UWH said, that's only one part of it.

I agree, the Rhino fight is the better one IMO. The only thing that makes the Bane fight cool is the free flow combat against the goons, which is present in the whole game anyway.

Jennifer Hale as MJ & Black Cat?
Efrem Zembalist as Doc Ock?
Darran Norris as JJ & Venom?

Now it's been at least two years since I played the game, but I will give you that Venom and Doc Ock sounded good. Just because a famous voice actor is doing it doesn't mean it's good.

I mean of course some of it can be chalked up to the format, a PS1 game is bound to sound worse than a PS3 game. But overall the voice acting in Shattered Dimensions which had amazing voice acting across the board and not just on the main characters is the real stand out. The only one who sounded off in SD was Spidey 2099, and not because Dan's performance was bad, but because it didn't really fit the character. Compare that to Neversofts game where for example Scorpion sounds horrible. And it was Dee Bradley Baker who voice JJJ in the PS1 game. He and Darran practically voiced all the characters, it kinda ironic that Dee voiced JJJ since Darran's Jonah in Spectacular is the best interpretation of him. (Yes better then J.K Simmons.)

And of course I will defend the VA in Ultimate Spider-Man (the game) until I die, but I know not everyone agrees on that one.

"LtCoolDee: Well, of course there will be additional costumes to unlock! :)" via Dee Brown on Twitter

Took them long enough to confirm.

EDIT: Regarding "fall-damage"

LtCoolDee @VenomSpawnSHH Can't remember what happens in Arkham but in ASM, Spider-Man uses his web at the last second to land safely (cool anim btw)
