Animals Are Not Ours To Wear

I have to side with Holly here. Comparing plants and animals is... well, kinda like comparing apples and oranges.

They dont have a stomach or anything. I'm pretty sure they only eat insects because of the environment they live in. Poor soil, so they have to get similar nutriests from insects.

Because you're prejudice against RNA but not DNA. It's cool. I just find it hypocritical. Let's protect the animals. But **** plants. If you were so saintly that you wanted to save lower lifeforms, you would recognize plants as well.

Of course then all we could eat would be rocks. That's why I say embrace the Circle of Life and have some brisket.

Sounds like a lifeform protecting itself. An instinctual act of survival. A level of intelligence. Just because they have fibers and liquids instead of nerves is no reason to be prejudice against them.

Come on Holly. Hug a tree today.

You sound so silly right now.

Plants have no form of a nervous system or a cerebral cortex. Obviously they can react to things like temperature, pH, and light but thats due to chemicals in their stems and leaves.
Plants can't feel pain. Nor can they think, nor could they ever evolve to be able to think. If a plant like thing was capable of movement and thought, then it wouldnt be classified as a plant.

Comprehend?

Did you not read what I wrote? I'm not saying plants have a nervous system just like an animal, but they do have the fundamentals of a TYPE of nervous system, though more primitive than our own. And mobiilty and thought are not necessarily prerequisites of a nervous system. These are issues that are still in the table amongst the scientific commuity and there has been much debate on the topic for years to no conclusive answer, so forgive me if I overlook the biased opinions of a PETA zealot with an agenda and an axe to grind.

I cant believe I'm arguing with a 40+ year old man whether or not plants have emotions. lol

It's funny how adament you guys are about trying to prove to me that plants could somehow (though impossible) have feelings when it's a proven fact that animals do infact feel pain yet you have no problem killing them.

You're not, actually. I'm not arguing that plants have emotions, since you either haven't been paying attention or I'm arguing concepts above your grasp, nor am I over 40. :)

They don't feel pain, in any way, shape, or form.
And if you think they do, then super.
Everyone's entitled to their wrong opinion.

I don't have a problem accepting my role in natural selection. I am at the top of the foodchain and I will eat everything because I am an omnivore. As my biological traits proove. I'm just trying to point out the hypocrisy of selectively choosing certain lifeforms to protect while leaving others alone because it is convenient.

As for me killing plants. See pic above.

Despite all ive said here you continue to make a claim that is completely baseless, and not only that, to make a claim as if it was indisputable fact lol
I have presented evidence that plants do not feel pain, now its your turn to present evidence that plants do feel pain, biotch.
Aside from saying that plants have some kind of "magic nervous system" that we cant detect. I dont think there's a shred of plausible evidence to support your argument. :yay:

Oh, it's survival of the fittest. The animals would kill and eat us if they could. We're just better at doing it.
