From there, Quesada moved on to announcing Annihilation: Conquest, turning the mic over to Rosemann to talk about the upcoming event that will follow-up Annihilation

Here’s how it will roll out:

Annihilation: Conquest Prologue - Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Brian Denham, Aleksi Briclot - June 2007

Annihilation: Conquest: Quasar - Christos Gage, Eric Basaldua, Rick Basaldua, Matt Wilson - July 2007

Annihilation: Conquest: Starlord - Keith Giffen, Timothy Green II, Nic
Klein - July 2007

Annihilation: Conquest: Wraith - Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Kyle Hotz, Clint Langley - July 2007

Annihilation: Conquest - Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Tom Raney, Aleksi Briclot – November 2007

Included in the larger Conquest project, Rosemann said there will be three miniseries and four issues of the ongoing Nova series all taking part.

Asked to comment on Quasar, Gage declined to spill to many details about the book, noting only that Quasar and Moondragon are on an important quest, the goal of which is important to Conquest as a whole. Rosemann described the min--series as "Joan of Arc in space."

Annihilation: Conquest: Starlord according Rosemann follows the original Starlord sent on a suicide mission and joined by a band of misfits including Groot, Captain Universe, Deathcry, Mantis, Bug of Micronauts fame, and Rocket Raccoon. Rosemann described the titles as Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandoes in space.
Covers of the mini-series will be by Nic Klein.

Also in the lineup, Annihilation: Conquest – Wraith will feature a new character called the Wraith, who carries a Western feel and element, but is much darker and grittier than Marvel space heroes of the past.
These mini-series lead into the six-issue Annihilation: Conquest mini-series running from November of 2007 through April 2009, written by Abnett and Lanning, and drawn by Tom Raney.

Looking forward to this ALOT, any event featuring can star Rocket Racoon has my vote :woot:

Interesting looking sword, outfit's not too bad either. Out in June, got plenty of time to save some cash!

The art for Quasar's good. I'm disappointed Wendell's no longer in the role, but I do like Phyla, so I'll check it out. I'm not sure about the medieval bent, but I usually find it interesting when creators mix genres like that.

Wraith looks like he might be a fun character. I kind of wish we could get more aliens who weren't just humans with different skin colors or hair, though. I understand TV shows do that because they don't have the budget to go crazy, but comics have an unlimited budget for visuals, so it's kind of disappointing that this is the concept people come up with for aliens 80% of the time.

"Joan of Arc" analogy, perhaps it's Wendell's voice that she is hearing? just throwing that out there.

I actually like Wraith's design quite alot, I think he looks pretty badass to be honest. He has a gun and a poncho :wow: In space? that kinda screams awesome to me, don't know why. It's true there are very few "gritty" Cosmics whereas Earth is crawling with gritty heroes. Should be cool.

Looks awesome. But I probably wont pick up all the minis.

From that image I'm looking forward to Starlord quite a lot looks like it could be really good fun. Wraith looks interesting enough and I'll pick up Quasar to see what it is like more than anything.

I'll probably only pick up the Quasar one. Maybe Starlord.

I'll probably pick up all of them, the Starlord mini looks like it'll rock, The Wraith one looks very interesting and the Quasar one.. I'll pick that up for completists sake I guess.

I only bought the Nova and Silver Surfer mini series last time, and I was fine. I'm already buying the Nova ongoing so I already got half the series down.

Ronan wasn't too great, but I think you missed out on Super-Skrull. It was kind of predictable, but it was still a really fun space adventure with almost Ennis-esque levels of violence.

I'll naturally be getting all of these for two reasons: 1) they all look pretty good, 2) I want to support anything Marvel does with Annihilation so that they don't cancel it anytime soon.

I've never been a huge Starlord fan and if Wraith is anything like Ravenous, he isn't really worth the time. But, I'll probably end up reading all of these in some shape and form. Which pretty much means convincing my friend to buy the ones I'm not.:yay:

Mooching comics off of friends is often more satisfying than buying them yourself.

Yeah, because unlike reading them in store, you dont feel bad about it later, and you have $3 to hit the Dollar menu at McDonalds.

You feel bad about it reading them in the store? You suck :csad: The only time that happens to me is when they stare at me whilst I'm reading. Very awkward.

Wraith like Ravenous? How so? Ravenous was bald, Wraith has cool hair :o

AT my store at least, all the comics are pre bagged and boarded, so reading at the store is either difficult or impossible, but my store is pretty lax about it. Still, it feels wrong to me at least. Comic book stores need all the sales they can get.

Yeah, I hate it when people read in the shop. My shop doesn't pre-bag, either. In fact, last Wednesday I was looking through comics at my store and there was a dude reading an issue next to me. The entire time. And then, right before I was about to leave, he put the issue back and walked out. I was like, "F*** you, dude. Just... f*** you." :(

My sentiments exactly. Aonther thing I hate is, when they pick up an insanely good comic, look over it, and then put it back and buy an issue of Power Pack instead.:csad:

Fortunately I have never seen anybody let alone bought an issue of Power Pack myself, that happen alot to you?

I don't know how it doesn't eat at their conscience. I feel dirty when I read more than 3 pages of an issue and put it back solely because I know I can't afford it.

I just hope Captain Mar-Vell plays a role in this thing.

I hope he doesn't. The dude's been dead for decades. Did anyone really want him back?
