Annihilation

Maybe he downloaded himself into the quantum bands before his body was destroyed, like Kyle once did with his ring in JLA.

Could be, anything is possible.

Yeah, just read that issue. I'm gutted that he bought the big one. I remember buying his book since #1.

I'm hoping it's a comicbook death in the truest sense of the word and he makes a comeback soon.

While it'd be sad to see him go, it could be a great chance to build up Xavin from Runaways, who was being trained to become the new Super Skrull.

Asked if Nova will return to Earth and react to the death of most of the New Warriors, Brevoort said eventually and probably, but it will have to come after Annihilation, “Where things are looking pretty grim for Nova as it stands.”

Yay! Annihilation #1 comes out today! Super! Ok, im bored and I wont get it until tomorrow. My store however is saving me the Hitch variant.

Holy sweet mother of Jesus, that was an outstanding first issue. I loved that Giffen included Starlord as a major character. Obscure cosmic characters need more exposure. I'm guessing the big thing that made him quit being Starlord was the death of his sentient ship. Anyway, the issue itself was f***ing sweet. I'll refrain from posting spoilers until more people have read it, but goddamn I'm excited for the rest of this mini now.

Ditto, yo.

Annihilation is ten times better than Civil War could ever hope to be. This is the best thing to happen in Marvel in years.

I agree. This is even better than Infinite Crisis' space stuff, in fact. Giffen's really drawing on everything from the cosmic side of Marvel and making it work really, really well.

One thing I'm wondering about, however, is where the other big cosmic powers besides Galactus are. They've been known to step in and meddle a bit if the stakes are high enough, and I'd say the stakes are pretty high with dudes like Tenebrous and Aegis helping the guy who wants to commit genocide on the entire positive-matter universe. At the very least, where's Adam Warlock in all of this? He tends to rise up right alongside the Surfer and the other cosmic heroes when trouble's a-brewing. Did he die or something?

He is just not being used..too much use in the 1990s..

he is probably trapped somewhere , i dont think he is currently dead.

will be retconned as being 'tied up' with somthing else I'm sure.

I know there was a Warlock mini-series recently. Maybe something happened to him in there. Did anyone read it?

Hey, I admit I haven't read the past 7 pages of posts, so I don't know what the specific topic is now but I am liking Annihilation so far. I thought that Super Skrull's and Nova's minies were awesome. Silver Surfer's was also good. Didn't get past the first issue of Ronan's. I didn't get to the comic store today, so I haven't read the first Annihilation yet.:xmen:

Nothing happened to him there. If you remember he showed up in the first volume of She-Hulk while she was being a space lawyer and fought the Champion of the Universe.

I'm pretty sure I read the interview where they said, like THANOSRULES mentioned, that Warlock won't be showing up because he's been overused in the cosmic stories. Basically he's off on the half of the universe that isn't being invaded fighting something else and doesn't know anything about Annihilation at the moment.

I expect there will be and Annihilation: Epilogue issue where Warlock will show up and go "Damn. What did I miss?"

I just read #1 and I wouldn't go as far as to agree with that statement but it's quite on par.

I really can't believe Galactus just suffered that ass-whoopin; I never thought I'd ever see this day. How do Tenebrous and Aegis get strength like that?

Also, props to Nova for shagging Gamora

Annihilation #1- In the last couple of years weve had many events come from both companies. Identity Crisis, House of M, Infinite Crisis, Civil War. I must say, Annihilation, surpasses all those series, quite easily. I havent been this excited for a comic in years and I really could go on for pages about this and I plan to (looking at you Corp and DBM). Issue #1 doesnt disappoint. The Annihilation Wave is still fighting through the galaxy and Nova and his armies do everything in their power to stop them. This is what I expect from my comics. Solid story, great dialogue, interesting characters, awesome art. I couldnt be more happy with this comic. And the final pages are really geekasm worthy and can't wait to see this series every month. 12/10.

Tenebrous and Aegis have been around since the start of the universe just like Galactus and from what we've seen so far, they each have power equal to Galactus.

I actually wanted to see more Ronan in this issue, his scene was pretty badass.

Yeah, I loved how Ronan assumed command. I liked how Nova didn't question it, either, because he knew he wouldn't like the answer. Seeing would-be heroes forced to compromise their morals in desperate war scenarios makes for great reading.

The one thing I didn't really like was Nova and Gamora shacking up. It seemed like it was just thrown in there for the sake of adding a little spice.

Anyway, dollars to donuts Star-Lord's ship is dead and that's why he's no longer Star-Lord. It was a living ship and he had some kind of bond with it, and it wasn't shown or even mentioned in this issue.

I guess I meant more along the lines of "what fuels them". The G-Man has to eat planets, how about them? I was kinda disappointed that Tenebrous has like 2 minor scratches on him at the end of the fight

Also, Nova and Gamora's "scene" seemed random indeed. She's fighting Ronan to the death one minute and taking the "Nova Force":p the next.

Sex sells, get over it.
