Annihilation

I like Nova's new bad-ittude. After re-reading this, and soaking it all in, I'm stoked for this series.

Does anyone have a link to what Hitch's variant looks like?

As I said, garbage. I asked my store to put it aside for me and everything expecting something ****ing epic.

Wow that is kinda lame, even for Hitch. I love him.:(

Did you buy it?

No. I had planned to but the cover ****ing sucks ass.

How much was it going for?

Am I the only one to wish that Comet Man would appear somewhere? That was old-school gold, son.

I have not read Annihilation #1, but I find it absurd that Annihilus who has been defeated in the past by FF4, Thor, Avengers, etc., hopes to conquer MU that has beings like the celestials and other cosmic beings. Absurd I say!

To Annihilus' credit, he was always a guy who never understood what his frickin magic pill shaped wand could do. It's been fairly clear that if he ever did figure it out that the world was screwed.

And take note "taking over the universe" rarely includes people like the Celestials.

Its only nuts like Dormannu whom want to take down Eternity itself.

Having Tenebrous, Aegis, and Thanos "on your side" helps a bit as well.

Again, I have not read Annihilation #1, but I don't see why Tenebrous and Aegis would "side" with Annihilus. It's like as if an ant came up to me and asked me to help him conquer the world. I would laugh and step on him.

Annihilus isn't a small guy dude. He did rule the Negative Zone.

Ok so it's more like Kim jong-il threatening to conquer the world...

I find it funny, in Civil War theyre sending cats into the Negative Zone. Is there like no communication at all?

It's a little bigger than that considering that the Negative Zone is essentially it's own universe.

People are underestimating Annihilus. He's obviously gained better control over his Cosmic Control Rod (I think that's the name), and he's organized practically the entire Negative Zone into an enormous army. It's not like he's trying to destroy everything himself, either. Of the heroes, only Nova and Quasar have even seen Annihilus himself yet. The rest have been fighting against wave after wave of Negative Zone soldiers, Seekers who wield the Negative Zone's equivalent to the Power f***ing Cosmic, and technology that's as advanced or more so than anything the positive universe has to offer. I don't recall Annihilus ever sending legions of forces that could overwhelm an entire planet after the FF or Thor before. That's what the United Front--which, remember, is still highly disorganized and lacking in power after the Annihilation Wave's blitz--has to deal with in every battle.

Tenebrous and Aegis have sided with Annihilus not because Annihilus is so impressive or powerful, but because his goals coincide with theirs: Annihilus wanted the ex-heralds and the Silver Surfer, Tenebrous and Aegis wanted the heralds' master Galactus. If Annihilus' forces are holding off anyone who might interfere half a galaxy away, I imagine it'd make Tenebrous and Aegis' capture of Galactus easier.

Thanos is with Annihilus at the moment, but it's obvious that he has ulterior motives. Why Thanos does anything he does is usually pretty inscrutable now that he's no longer obsessed with Death.

Who's sending people to the Negative Zone and why?

The captured non-registrants (including Speedball) are being sent to a prison built in the Negative Zone

I thought that tied in perfectly. In Annihilation they say that our universe is spreading into the Negative Zone, and Annihilus is taking back what he has lost.

I read it and just assumed they meant that Reed and Tony had been buidling the compound in his dimension, and so he was striking back in retaliation... maybe i'm wrong

You probably are. Of course assuming that Civil War and Annihilation happen at the same time, the Negative Zone isnt the safest place.

Actually Annihilus is pissed because our Universe is growing and the growth is spreading to the "Negative Zone".....I don't believe the compound in the Negative Zone has anything to do with Annihilation
