Annihilation

So I was looking for a thread on this and couldn't find one... so I started one.

I read the one shot when it came out and wasn't really all that impressed. I decided not to buy anything else, but one week (several weeks back) it was a slow comic book week so I went ahead and got caught up. Now I've only read Nova and Silver Surfer (and the first issue of Super Skrull) thus far, and so far I'm actually really enjoying it. Is anyone else reading this? What are your thoughts?

Thanos is in love with Mistress Death (not sure why) and he is always trying to please her. The whole point of the Infinity Gauntlet was that he wanted to please her by killing everything (which by the way, is an excellent read. Read it if you haven't). Also, if you haven't read it and like Drax, his mini that was a lead in to Annihilation was also good, and showed his transformation from Dumb Drax into the current Drax. Good stuff.

I also get the feeling that Starlord won't be making it back. Either that or he somehow ends up with Quasar's powers and becomes the new Quasar.

Actually, only half of the universe was meant to die because it would balance the universe.

However, he had this fascination with Death ever since his youth when he saw her, and has loved her ever since. Although he later on went to say that he didn't love her, and now seems to again.

However, Dumb Drax was awesome.

I figure all six issues of Annihilation, but that's still smaller than the other two volumes. What's suppose to be coming out after Annihilation? I know something with the heralds, but I think those are only 2 issues, right? That might work.

I think it's the heralds, and they only get a few books, so yeah. At least, that's what I remember off the top of my head.

Due to the success of Annihilation, Marvel announced the following spin-offs:

* A new ongoing series, Nova, written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.
* A Quasar five-issue mini-series.
* Super Skrull: Armada, a four-issue mini-series written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach.


I want all three of those

Two about the surviving Heralds, a Nova ongoing and a one shot about Kree and Skrull. I think.

Yeah, the Surfer one looks the most important because he chases down Tenebrous and Aegis. I dunno what he's gonna do to them as they should both be able to kick his ass individually
