So, I was watching Gotham Knight earlier tonight, and I thought it was a pretty cool experiment. The stories were pretty hit-and-miss, but I really did like it overall. It was an interesting bridge between BB and TDK, despite all the continuity/canon mistakes (my mind just worked around those though). I liked the idea of animated segments filling in the gaps between the major Nolan films.

So I think it would be pretty interesting to have another bridge between TDK and B3, dealing with fallout from TDK and eventually leading into B3. There a great number of possible story ideas and short film segments and writers that can be used to tell effective tales. I personally would love to have a segment on the Joker in Arkham (voiced by Mark Hamill, whose Joker is the best after Heath's, IMO), and it'd be interesting to see what he does in that setting (good possibility for a cameo or role with a Nolan-verse Harley Quinn and other Arkham inmates or villains that haven't been and probably won't be seen in the main series). Ideally this one would be written by one of the Nolan brothers or Goyer. We could also see the rise of the freaks in Gotham in these segments and the effects on Batman combating them. We can see segments on lesser-known villains like Black Mask, and touch upon things that happened in TDK (like Dent's death).

What do you guys think about this idea, another bridge between TDK and B3? What kind of stories could be told, who would you want to write them? Should they be in anime style or in a North American style animation?

Ideally, I'd love it if there was an epilogue or something hinting at The Riddler showing up to lead into B3.

Also, this would what an ideal Joker would look like in a TDK/B3 bridge. Anime style would look awesome.

That looks amazing.
And i actually kinda like that idea.

great idea... but i hope it's nothing like gotham knight which was basically a few episodes of batman put in together. they should make this with real movie length. it's the only way to introduce harley quinn and resolve the joker story without recasting Heath.

Well, I think the way they left it is fine, but if they want to dive in further, there's a great opportunity here. They got Conroy to play Batman in Gotham Knight, so they could get Hamill, who loves playing the Joker. I don't mind if this in-between film has separate stories, like in GK, and if they make it two hours, that'd be awesome, long as the stories are properly cohesive and they tie in together in the larger scheme of things (namely how Gotham is transforming). I don't think they'd go for a feature length single story, but a few writers and production teams doing individual stories and tying them together would be effective. It'd be neat if Nolan himself were to plot out the stories as a sort of prologue to B3.

I'd prefer a comic book to be honest. I think creating heaths voice in my head etc, would be much more enticing to me. Usually the die hard fans are the ones who watch these, prologues with very little main stream really falling in. However, if you do a comic book, your for sure almost guarenteeing no chance for the main stream.

Have you read "Joker" yet?
That version of Mistah J is similar.
There's a thread about it in the comics section.

Yep, I read it, I meant as a bridge between TDK / B3

I think the bridge could go more into detail of Arkym Asylem since we're going deeper into the Rouge gallery we should see more of this place with Joker in it. and what happens to Gotham with the Death of the White Knight, while also showing the side fo the Dark Knight and the Secret him and Gordon share..
I still like the idea of a Batman Anime so have
Yoshinori Natsume who did a Batman Manga called Death Mask

or Kia Asamiya who did Batman Child of Dreams

Great idea. Great way of giving a neater closure to the Joker story without having to go through the mess of a recast.

oh yeah, just have a voice over

of course Kevin Conroy

but I don't know if Mark Hamill can do it.
I MEAN HE IS THE ANIMATED JOKER
but I don't know for the movie..

but then again it will go well with an Anome touch

NEVER KNOW

All great ideas. I just hope it's more entertaining than GK. "Working Through Pain" and whatever the Scarecrow one was called were the only two I really enjoyed.

The one with the repulsor was ok story-wise but the art was so terrible it completely turned me off...

I didn't like GOTHAM KNIGHT all that much, but that's mainly due to my dislike for anime I think.

That said, I could stand to see a MAD LOVE segment written by Paul Dini or more GCPD by Brubaker and Rucka.

I'm not big on Anime, but i did really like the Dark Knight.
And i agree with the Mad love thing.
I'd be fun to see that again, maybe a little revised though, so it's not just for kiddies.

I keep hearing this, but it still makes no sense to me. His storyline was resolved in Dark Knight, he was caught in the end. What more needs to be resolved? That being said, I wouldn't object to a Joker storyline if they did another anime film similar to Gotham Knight, and Mark Hamill would be a great choice.

Ah Mark Hamill.
I can't even watch Star Wars anymore. haha

It's not a little bias, just knowing your target audience and keeping a little stylistic coherence within the movie. I didn't see anything in Gotham Knight that was "just for kiddies". Maybe the first segment with a heavy re-drawing.

And what's wrong with Mark Hamill? Of course he can do it. If Conroy worked for the "Gotham Knight" Batman, Hamill is the way to go for the Joker.

I agree, but it is a way of pleasing those who disagree. Read the Joker recast thread, there are many there who believe that the "we'll be fighting forever" line requires a new appearance of the Joker in the franchise, or it will feel like a fraud.

That's not what I think, but an animated bridge before B3 could be a good way of arriving to a compromise between the two stances.

i said Hamil can do it
I also said I wasn't sure because of the look from Dark KNight.

but if it's drawn right yes he can do it

It sure is a great way to please us who disagree, one I didn't think of but actually makes sense. I still feel that we need to see some kind of resolution (or escape) because the Joker wouldn't just be sitting in a cell when he's hardly ever done it for a long period of time, ever. He had all these plans to escape within hours in TDK, Now we're to believe he's actually dumbfounded and unable to breakout? His threat is an infinite one, with the only possible end coming with one of them dying. If he were so easy to dispose of, Batman wouldn't have had any of these problems over the last 60 + years, but I digress...

The word is out that Batman has killed, so either the Joker thinks he actually won in a literal sense, or he realizes Batman took the wrap and he won morally. Either way, it's cause for a celebration, and I don't think Arkham detainees fit the bill. This way would eliminate any recast, any reference in the actual movie, and it would allow for a little creative license. I'm sold :cwink:

If Joker knew Batman Didn't kill him he would break out just to prove Batman to be a lier
OR prove that batman is a killer
