Comics Another Horseman revealed

Actually, one should say that Apocalypse is not evil, rather a force of evolution...he's as uncaring as nature is...he is mearly trying to force evolution's hand.

As for Archangel vs Angel....I would say there's no comparison, but you can't compare them on just a physical power level. Apocalypse twists you mentally, and how powerful could angel have been if he had the same dark seed in him that was planted in Archangel? Still get chills thinking about the XFactor issue were Candy Southern dies...."Hello, I am death..."

Apocalypse sucks and Sinister is only a little bit better than him.

But Apocalypse doesn't wear ribbons and lipstick.:O

Apocalypse is now a joke, what the hell is up with that apron and the "A" belt? Where's my tea and cookies Pocky

Maybe now he is but i remember when he was still a force to reckoned with. There's this one issue (don't remember which one exactly) where he is really weakened after being attacked by his own henchmen. He still gets into a fight with Storm, Bishop, Iceman and Angel. And he totally trashed them in one minute while he was severly injured.

i had high hopes for this arc... but ofcrouse milligan let me down. this 5 issue arc could easily be 3 issues. it is soOo slow and boring.

but i really want to know the deal with gambit and the reasoning behingd how the new x-men team is set up (cable, cannonball, mystique, sabertooth and rogue leading)

LMFAO. And hell if this movie doesn't reel in the bucks and they gotta go cheaper for the next one,to conserve money they can call up Tim Curry and tell him to bring his Rocky Horror costume..They can get a cheap cape from Wal Mart during Halloween..with some fine tuning we could have Sinister.

I just finished reading X-Men 184. *begins weeping*

It can't be THAT bad.... can It? *screams on the top of his lungs* WHY WON'T THE CAR JUST WORK!? ....

In each of the recent issues, they have had a little back story that focuses on the Horsemen. The Gambit back story was well...feeble don't quite cover it.

Gambit gets on the conversion manchine --"No painkillers."

Apocolpyse --"I would recommend something to deaden the pain. At least in phase one of the transformation. When the instruments burrow deep into your ---"

Gambit -- "Mais, non! I must be conscious the whole time! I want to be fully aware of what you're doing to me."

Ozymandias --"No painkillers. Poets will surely sing of your courage in centuries to come. Oh! That such a brave man has changed over to our side."

G --"Bravery has nothing to do with it. And
who said anything about being on your side?"

Ozy -- "Gambit gazes fearlessly at unspeakable pain -- yet quakes at his own motivation? As scribe to Apocolpyse, I hear everything. And I know that you will join us ...because you have come to hate the X-men."

Apoc-- "It is nothing to be ashamed of, Gambit. A man like you.. An X-Man like you --should have been treated with more respect.... My scribe is right. You should not fear the truth -- you have joined us because the X-men treated you like rubbish. You told me yourself how they pushed you aside. Demoted you. Stopped listening to you. You -- The Mighty Gambit! By any logic, considering your unique.. heritage.. You should have been leader of the X-men. "

G-- "You're wrong. I'm not doing this because I hate the X-men. I'm doin' this because I love the X-men. I almost believe you when you say you're on the mutant's side this time. I can tell you've changed.M-day has brought out the best in you. We ned your strength, your indefatigability (as if Gambit would even say this word) ...But if you're lying -- schemein' -- If behind this mask, the old self serving Apocolypse waits to pounce...I'll be right by your side, watchin' and waiting."

Apocy smiles and leaves. Ozy says, "Master. You heard what LeBeau said. How do you feel about having a fully empowered X-man standing sentry over you?"

A-- Oh, that's what he says now.. but the creature that emerges out of that machine will not be the one who entered."

Ending scene --- Gambit screaming.

*squeekness weeps at what is possibly the worst piece of writing she has ever read*

None of this makes sense.....It really doesn't... :/ I just can't rationalize this anymore. I'm hoping to God something amazing happens out of this in the next 2 books, cause if not, this will go down in history as one of the worst written arcs in X-Men history ...not that anyone seems to be paying any attention to X-Men history anymore, made oh-so-very-obvious.
-.-
Well I'm still holding out hope, and you're right Squeeky..just don't sound like words he'd use.

I'm just bummed that Gambit -- my absolute fave -- is the big victem of Milligan's horrific writing. He's the real casualty here. I'm just not sure where Gambit will be going after this. Is he going to bust free and be some sort of quasi- good guy/bad guy after this? His appearance has been radically altered. Who knows what else the transformation will do to him. *squeekness is not pleased*

*sigh* I just hope this horrible arc finishs soon and he's moved to another team/place/comic book/whatever, even if he disappears for a while... BUT please, end with this piece of s***!!!

*continues weeping* And they are saying Larroocca's leaving the book, too. *reaches for a fresh box of tissues*

Mmm, this line made me wonder...

You -- The Mighty Gambit! By any logic, considering your unique.. heritage.. You should have been leader of the X-men.

Does Apocalyse know who's Gambit's father? I think they're going throught "The End" ideas... Sinister, hence the June X-men cover with Sinister and Mystique -father (?) of Gambit and foster mother of Rogue- in it.

poor Remy  now I'm really thinking of stopping here with buying the X-books. It's bad enough that Milligan has been destroying the character, but he also gets Gambit for his little miniseries, which will probably be as bad as this arc.

Maybe. It did catch my attention. At least maybe something positive will come out of this disaster.

Of course he does. Apocalypse is all knowing. I like how he calls Gambit, the mighty Gambit.

I only have one question: WHAT!?! The dialogue is just... *horrible* It's something that the staff of The Bold and the Beautiful would write! Eww... I hope we won't see this arc. Ever.

What mini are you talking about?

*continues weeping*

Yeah, what mini?

after the BoA arc, and Milligan leaves, Marvel gave him the okay to do a miniseries after that involved what happened after the entire thing. I'm still hoping it is just a rumor and that Marvel sends Milligan off somewhere else and leaves the poor Cajun alone.

First time I heard that... but it's been said that there're plans for Gambit after BoA. If those plans became a miniseries written by Milligan... May God protect us and Remy. :(

It hasn't shown up the newest soliciations forJune (the June book was today), maybe it will be later. :)

Yeah, what mini?

It was once briefly memtioned from Marvel when someone asked about what Milligan would be doing next - they vaguely mentioned that they were in talks about an X-world mini related to some of the stuff going on in Blood of Apocalypse. Since Marvel has been saying that Gambit and Sunfire and the Horsemen will do "something" after this story and they are not an issue with any main X-Men title, speculation is that is where we will see them. So yes weep now for how terribly Gambit is being written and fear it will only get worse if he is continued to be written by this writer.

I swear I can't believe how stupid that explanation makes Gambit come off. But here is the rub for all those with a sense of irony. Poor Gambit is doing exactly what the X-Men did with Mystique. Ignoring her past actions and what she just did moments before and trusting Apocalypse to be truthful in his sincerity in helping mutants and needing him on the X-Men. Despite past history and the fact that he has NO CLUE what Apocalypse's actual plans are and is willing to let him mess with him to watch over him. Now the X-Men can do with with Mystique (despite how stupid that came off as) and I'll bet you it will not come back to bite them and they'll say they were being fair and forgiving adn she gets to stay on the team. Gambit does with Apocalypse and it will bite him in butt, change him and make the X-Men hypocritically look down on his for doing what they have taught him in their own actions. One thing really is true in that speach by Poccy, the X-Men specifically Emma and Scott as leaders are full of it.
