Yup. I don't get why fans are not only defending a possible body count, but some almost seem to want one too...
Really, they have only one argument to justify the Hulk killing: That he might be portrayed as being so bloody stupid he doesn't even know he is killing... Well, I'm sorry but a Hulk reduced to a King Kong level of intelligence and responsibility is not the Hulk at all.
Hulk, for all his anger and rage, is not some cumbersome child or some unthinking animal, he is a very moral character: He knows what he is doing and he often knows right from wrong better than those who would seek to attack him.
Bottom line is this: A body count is not needed to tell a Hulk story, the only reason for having one is if the writers have got it wrong, it's as simple as that.
Btw, I posted this in another thread but worth having it again here - This link is to a page with scans from the Hulk's own book which clarifies his current status as regards killing:

The Illuminati are a problematic ret-con at best..One I personally think Marvel should have told Bendis to stick up his over-rated @ss, but since they did go and let the ego have his way....
The point made in WWH, and with the scans I posted (which clearly state he has never killed any innocent soul unless his mind has been severely tampered with/controlled in some way) is that the Illuminati were wrong to exile the Hulk.
For one, they had no right. What arrogance to presume they can sit in secret making decisions that can affect the entire planet (and among them they have Dr Strange who knows the Hulk has personally saved the planet several times over...hardly makes sense to exile a known saviour...)
And secondly it was utter hypocrisy from at least 2 of their members: Tony Stark and Reed Richards - both have been responsible for innocent deaths themselves in the past: Stark has hundreds on his score-card whilst under mind control/tampering (just as is the case with the Hulk) and Richards...Well, apart from all the times his experiments have placed NY or even the entire planet in mortal danger, Mr. Fantastic is also indirectly responsible (an accessory before the fact) for repeated counts of global genocide!!
But the Hulk goes on a bomb induced rampage in Vegas (which is only referred to after the fact as having resulted in casualties) and he has to go?
Like I said, hypocrites - at least as written by Bendis (God alone knows why his work is so popular...I personally think his writing in the mainstream MU is terrible).
Haven't been on these boards in a while;
I hope Dr.Banner is whining over Betty for the entire movie like Peter was doing for MJ in the Spiderman series.
The reason i ask is because the Spiderman series has been an all around success, and Marvel/The Film makers might believe that that aspect of the movies might be one of the reasons for it's success and add it to Hulk....:
Your grapeline is sourIve just had some horrendous on the grapevine news from a mate of mine who workd here in uk at Leavsden studios. ( harry pooter james bond etc). The script has changed to show hulk in a more vulnerable way. abom is way stronger than the hulk now and hulk wins not through getting stronger but through using his brain to somehow overcome abom. I think this idea sucks and will undermine the one great power hulk has which is to become strong eonough to defeat anyone who wants to tangle with him physically. What do u guys think
. What you say is not validated and I have some swampland in Florida to sell you, really cheap, honestly. What a croc. No offense, but your source is a 100% wrong and.............look away, spoiler coming......................I know how the Hulk does away with Abomb and its not using his brain but brute force and rage. Sorry but I wont get into specifics about how, but I will tell you you will cringe when you see it.Your grapeline is sour. Hulks simple mindedness is part of his charm, he's like a small child in a monsters body. Having him outwit an opponent would just take away one more reason why we root for him....the innocence of his state of existence. This would be the first time I have heard fans say they don't want a character to outwit an enemy, but just blow him up real good.![]()
in the original script he rages up but what i was told is ed norton wanted to change the ending as he felt fans wouldnt necassarily sympathise with as he said " one monster beating another monster". he was saying that to non fans that the hulk might not endear to them by being the same as abom so they have altered it so hulk outwits him rather than physically beats him. marvel want to make this at least a series of three so theyre not just looking to appease hulk fans but attract new ones and thay think that to do this they need to make hulk more vulnerable.
if you dont believe me then fai enough, but my frien is an avid comic fan aswell as working within the marketing dept at leavsden and he was quite sure ( and as pissed as i am) that this is the directyion that the ending will take

well theyre just gonna adjust the fight in that hulk wins with humanity and guille as opposed to smashing . I suppose on screen that would look kind of monstrous to kids ( who will be the main target audience). so hulk will find a different way to win now. I believe he was originally gonna kill the bomination in a mad surge of power. This has been canned as an ending due to how they want the hulk portrayed for the 3 films.

That would kind of suck and just mean Hulk is not the strongest out there.
I understand Abom is stronger at the outset of the battle but the Hulk not getting stronger takes away one of the main factors that makes him the Hulk.
It is what it is at the end of the day.
You know, every now and then i start looking forward to this movie, then something like this comes along and just slaps my excitment right back down. If they go for that ending it will not be liked by me.

Also
I think everyone here is an "Avid Fan" and his friend works at a marketing department in the UK? Hmmmmmm I think I trust EB, who worked on set in Canada, a little more that some guy in a marketing department in the UK.
That's what I'm hoping for, and it's more in line with the Hulks true character. Fixit may outwit Abomb, but when he's mean and green, rage is what defines him......look away, spoiler coming......................I know how the Hulk does away with Abomb and its not using his brain but brute force and rage.
