I think Infinity War and Black Panther have helped push up the base level interest in all upcoming Marvels films by a bit so that could help this film.

With how little we've actually heard about this one and it coming so close after IW, this is probably the most nervous I've felt for an MCU film in a long time. As long as the reviews are okay, it should match or surpass the first one.

I think the floor is $600M for this flick...yup. So even if the reviews are "justice league" bad, i still see it grossing more than the 1st one.

Another thing I worry about for this film is the staggered release date for it in several key overseas markets.

Disappointed it's coming out so late in the UK, I will probably know the whole plot by then maybe even watched it online. Also it's coming soon after Deadpool. I'm sure it'll make above 500 mil, but it will be underwhelming considering the success of Black Panther and IW

I think most solo hero films are going to be underwhelming compared to those 2 Titans.

I just can't discount a heavy influence of a "IW effect" right now with a release date so close to IW's insane level of success. It's possible like BP that IW will still be in theaters when A&W drops.

I think pretty unfair to expect this movie to have a comparable box office to either of those movies. Ant-Man and the Wasp probably won't come close to those movies numbers but that doesn't mean it won't be considered a big success in it's own right.

Yeah, I can see it increasing along the lines of Thor (449) to Dark World (644) so 700-ish seems reasonable.

$750M WW seems likely. That'd be great and about a 50% increase on the original plus Ant-Man then becomes yet another billion dollar sub-franchise...the MCU's 6th such with more on the way.

That would be a Huge jump. I'd guess the sequel has a budget of 170 million .

I don't see it coming anywhere near 800 unless it's just a flat out amazing movie with amazing legs.

Initial estimate is $75-95 million OW, $225 million total domestic. (For comparison, Ant-Man had a $57 million OW and $180 million domestic total.)

I think this movie could be around the 750-800 Million range. I also think that "Spoilers For Infinity War!!!.....[BLACKOUT]That the GA could be curious after the events of Infinity War post snap even though this movie takes place before it. [/BLACKOUT]

Could give it an extra boost.

They should release this the Friday before the July 4 holiday in the states, not after.
