Great! Cant believe its opening bigger than Spidey in HK.
If it gets the same preview to opening day ratio and internal multiplier as Spider-Man: Homecoming, that Thursday number would lead to an opening day of $37.9M and an opening weekend of $87.4M.
Ant-Man is surprisingly popular in Asia apparently which is why Marvel has had the cast out really promoting the sequel over there.

I really liked it. also, as Walked out of my theater i overheard a couple say they wanted to see it several more times. The audience in general really reacted well to the film. Seems like another crowd pleaser.

In addition Wasps ticket sales are besting the low-end of trackings $75M forecast.
This is a situation that every distribution boss craves: Having a sequel improve greatly upon the originals opening weekend results, and increasingly this is only common with Marvel product.
Well see if Saturday pushes Ant-Man and the Wasps weekend higher. Typically, most Marvel movies ease on a Saturday when compared to their Friday opening days which are further bulked by Thursday previews. Los Angeles is seeing 100-degree temperatures this weekend, with the San Fernando Valley suffering around 118 degrees. That heat wave is good for the box office, however rainy days are better so were told.
Disappointing opening weekend. Really expected much better by it, seems that marvel should have made the whole franchise less kiddie-friendly since kids dont seem to have embraced it and this has the usual marvel crowd to fall back in.
