Still not exactly hyped for this, but the trailer was good.

That was an awesome teaser. I like the action they were showing, and the camaraderie looks like to be on par with the first. At first blush anyway.

I'm a bit iffy about the building. Don't make any sense.

Here's my completely baseless and crazy theory concerning the building: it is actually a miniature (created by Pym himself?), and what we see in the trailer is just him restoring it to its original size.

I think you are spot on. That must be the only sane way to explain the building. Hank made a mini building then make it big. In the trailer he made it small again.

One of the Ant-Man figures comes with something called a Quantum ship miniature, so I guess it is what he and Hope will be traveling in when they get into the Quantum Realm.

Imagine Scott Lang shrinking and launching through the air with this 12-inch scale SHRINK & STRIKE ANT-MAN Figure, featuring a hidden launcher that can send the included miniature ANT-MAN figure or Quantum ship accessory flying!

Yeah, with the tank and the "water truck," the Pym particle defies all logic and consistency. Damned if I care though! :hehe:

So assuming this movie is a solid success -- a third AM/W movie is a sure thing? Will all the franchises be 3 simply based on the previous one making money?

Because I have heard people say things like there will be no Thor 4 because they have too many franchises to be started. So AM being a hit assures a third but T:R being a hit DOES NOT assure a fourth. What is so magic about 3?

Hasn't Chris Hemsworth's contractual commitment been used up? Besides telling another Thor story does steal the time away from younger characters as I don't think Marvel/Disney is ready to commit to more time, even if X-Men films disappeared from the marketplace for a while. They wouldn't want to go out too far and have the audience suddenly change coarse as they had enough of Marvel characters for a lifetime.

Yes his contract is up and then a week or so ago he stated he'd love to do another. So he wouldn't be the obstacle to a 4th.

This trailer is exceptional. Since we've had two movies to see Ant-Man in action I'm so glad the first look was a lot of Wasp!

I honestly think that after Infinity War THIS movie is going to be the second best blockbuster of the year.

If we want to go down the logic route, how can Hope shrink the van they are driving when they aren’t wearing their helmets?

The van is a sealed environment. Its a multi-person shrinking suit with 4 wheel drive and satellite radio.

Did I mention how much I loved the title card treatment?

Some of the best work in the entire MCU.

So far most of the trilogies have seen some sort of logical end point for the characters, or at least would be if it weren't for the team-up films bringing them back.:o

I do think Ant-Man and the Wasp will stick around going forward to be part of the new Avengers if some of the originals die or retire like so many thing.

This looks like it might be better than the previous installment. I'm not expecting miracles, but I'm hoping for a tighter story.

It has Wasp in it, so assuming that they portray her at least semi-competently, then it'll already be better than the first.

I'm also hoping for better villain(s) this time around.

I like it and am looking forward to it, but I can't get hyped for it at the moment. Still a distant 3rd behind IWs and BP for me. Am&W will just be a nice cool down movie for me. I didn't get too invested in the 1st and enjoyed it.

Depending on how competent the story and motivations are in this film, Marvel should have another winner on its hand. Really like how creative they've gotten with some of the action beats and hopefully with Ghost. It'll be interesting to see how Fishburne's Bill Foster fits in. Also, surprised hardly anyone mentioned that Michelle Pfeiffer was not mentioned or seen. I'm betting they won't show her until the 2nd trailer and it'll still be as minimal as possible.

Looks like a fun night out. Can't wait to see Hope kick ass. Hope she develops Jean's bubbly personality in the second one. I mean, she won't need to mourn her mum forever nor blame her old man

I don't see 'bubbly personality' around the corner.

I don't see it either but I think she'll be a somewhat lighter character now that she's not as burdened with anger at her father for her mother's death and has been around Scott and his crew for a bit longer.
