i think Pfeiffer has after the cuts and reshoots only a small role left , idk the Infinity War thing with Hawkeye let me rethink such things like twists like that , because we can expecting thinks we dont expect from Marvel Studios from now on

I actually reckon the opposite. I reckon she’s got a huge role in this but it’s top secret so marvel doesn’t want to spoil it. They do love their surprise twists

Is Michelle's Wasp supposed to have aged whilst trapped in the quantum realm?

Thank you. I never heard of the character I don't think IM villains are that great and known either.

Ghost is from one of the most famous Iron Man stories of all time - Iron Wars. I'm familiar with the story from the 90s cartoon where I thought Ghost was pretty damn cool.

No. The first film wasnt about Janet. Nor did it need to be. It was Scott's origin story. Clearly they were saving Janet and the quantum realm for the sequel. Janet's story is more relevant in the sequel which will deal with Hope becoming Wasp. So again I ask, how did they disrespect her within the context of the first film and the story they were telling? They didnt have janet dress in a silly costume and do the chicken dance or do something morally at odds with her established moral character. They didnt do anything to damage the character. A fan being upset about having to wait for a sequel isnt the same thing as Marvel disrespecting the character.
I'm not upset that I have to wait for a sequel, I'm upset that Marvel thought it was a good idea to get rid of one of their most unique and fun superheroines and replace her with the most dull character they could come up with.

It's very ironic to me that people try to defend Marvel's decision to focus on Lang by saying stuff like "But Scott is far more interesting than Hank!" because, uh, replace "Scott" with "Janet" and "Hank" with "Hope" and you'll know exactly why I hate what they did.

But honestly, this wouldn't even be that big of an issue if they had at least given Hope her mother's personality... but nope. Generic Tough Girl is what we got. Boy, I sure cannot wait to see her be a stick in the mud who is so much better at everything than her more fun male partner for two hours.

Wow, so many people with a fundamental misunderstanding of why Hope was not Wasp in Ant-Man. Scott explains it very plainly for the audience, and it makes 100% sense.

As for why Scott is Ant-Man in the movie and not Hank, I honestly think it is best. Of all the original creations back in the 60s, the Astonishing Ant-Man could never support his own book. Why? Because in a world of other scientist characters, he was not as interesting and had lamer villains. Scott on the other hand brings other elements and appeal as a character that Hank does not, ones that won't be dwarfed by the likes of Iron Man. This is why Scott was chosen. I also personally like it as it develops the idea we had other superheroes before Iron Man or the current Avengers when you make Scott a legacy character.

hmm this part i agree with. I don't know anything about the comics and as badass as Hope looks it'd have been refreshing if her personality wasn't so similar to Gamora's/Lady Sif's/Black Widow's. I don't remember what Avengers cartoon it was I'd seen recently but the Wasp featured in that one seemed a lot quirkier/fun and less angsty. Part of the reason I liked Valkyrie was how different she was to the typical female characters that do combat in the MCU.

That said I enjoyed Hope in the first one & can't wait to see her in this one too.

they should had waited a couple of more weeks to release the trailer I mean IW was still consuming my every thought and still is that the trailer was meh for me cause I can't even think about that movie right now

but Wasp looks like she will be a beast in this

I'm actually glad Hope has the personality she does. Just as the two Ant-Man's have contrasting personalities, the two Wasps should have contrasting personalities. Also, Hope is almost nothing like Gamora/Lady Sif/Black Widow. "Tough" is a personality trait that many superheroes have, and it's not the main one I would associate with any of the characters mentioned. Hope is an uptight, stick in the mud, businesswoman type.

Was it this one? The cartoon is Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and yeah, this version of Janet was great.

Just as the two Ant-Man's have contrasting personalities, the two Wasps should have contrasting personalities.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, based on this, it sounds like you're expecting movie Janet to be the bubbly, positive character that we know from the comics and shows... how? The poor woman's spent the last 30 years (alone?) in the Microverse, if anything I'm expecting her to be a broken shell of her former self.

why do they always have to show every character whose in the film on the actual poster?

I get that actors want us to see their faces (or their agents demand it) but come on. It should be the hero and the villain, IMO.

I have movie fan friends who will go see this solely because they now know Pfeiffer is in the film thanks to that poster. It's "oh, that person is in the film?! I'll see it!'. It's good marketing, albeit considering how small some of these parts probably are a bit false.

Iron Man has some pretty good underrated villains. Ghost is one of them.

Most people have not heard of 95% of most heroes enemies. It has less to do with the quality of the villains and more to do with how often they make appearances and how they are used.

Ghost has appeared in iron man armored adventures and Spider-Man cartoons

Wow seriously? That’s a huge shame. I wonder if it was originally meant to open the film.
The first movie had a prologue of Hank's Ant-Man on a mission in Panama to steal a microfilm from Jordi Mollà's character.

You can see clips of it in the trailer of the first movie with Hank's Ant-Man smashing a light bulb and firing a machine gun at bad guys in the compound.

The prologue was in Edgar Wrights original script as well.
Sadly Peyton Reed liked the prologue but cut it from the movie. All that is left in the actual film is glimpses of it during Darren Cross presentation at Pym Technologies early in the movie.
I don't think Janet will end up as the villain because there were some shots of Douglas and Pfeiffer filming on a beach, looking happy and cozy with one another. Unless those were some type of dream or hallucinations, they're not making Janet turn bad.
Yeah I was going to mention the leaked shots of Douglas and Pfeiffer strolling on a beach but felt it might be a bit too spoilery.

Yes. Pfeiffer has long grey hair in the film.

Loved the new trailer! Better than first one. Wasp is gonna be awesome to watch! As is Giant-man.

Also, put me in the minority that WANTS someone to turn to dust in a post-credit sequence.

In the flashback scenes. Yeah.

I have no idea how post-microverse Janet will act, but even if she's not bubbly, she still won't have Hope's personality.

I am calling the A&W post credit scene now:
Hope and Scott bring Janet back and during like a quiet moment of the Pym's being reunited, Hope, Hank and Janet get "dusted due to Thanos and Clint recruits Scott for campaign to undo the Mad Titan's actions.

[blackout]Hmmm....I'm hoping a cliffhanger would be Stan Lee getting dusted & unlike Samuel L Jackson, he says while dusting away, "Ah man, I thought I had at least twenty more years in me."[/blackout]

I'm kinda interested to see if they do a deaging effect on Pfeiffer in a flashback. The one they did on Douglas in the first one was really good.

The de-aging thing was so mind blowing in CW with RDJ. It makes me really psyched to see how it's done in A&W. I like the MCU's Scott and Hope a lot but I want a good look at Hank and Jan in their prime since those two in the comics are Ant-Man and Wasp to me so this would be the only chance to see them in live action being super heroes for the foreseeable future.

In the flashback scenes. Yeah.
Somehow, knowing that I might get to see the real Wasp for only a few minutes is not enough to placate my righteous indignation. I stand by what I said earlier... Marvel did Janet dirty.

I have a question for everyone.

According to the Wrap, Ant-man and the Wasp takes place in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War.

Question: Which comes first after Civil War, Ant-man and the Wasp or Black Panther.
Or doesn't it matter ?

This is a time-line specific question.

We don't know

Panther we know takes place in the real immediate aftermath of CW. The death of T'chaka had not even made it to Lupita's character so I assumed it was very shortly after the end of CW. With this film I have to think even more time has passed, perhaps weeks or even a month or two after Cap springs the others from the Raft. There had to be some kind of hearing to get Scott out of prison proper and under house arrest with the ankle bracelet.

I'm kinda wondering if Tony might have pulled some strings to keep Scott out of federal custody?

Maybe we will get a better idea after the movie.

Black Panther takes place one week after the events of Civil War.

Ant-Man and The Wasp probably doesn't take place right after Civil War for a number of reasons

Lang's buddies have the X-Con's security business up and running

Hank & Hope seem to have been on the run for a while. Seems like the Pyms had have not seen Lang in a while and Scott hasn't been Ant-Man for a while due to being under house arrest.

Hank & Hope completed Hope's Wasp suit. They seemingly built a ship capable of travelling the Quantum Realm and fitted the Ant-Man tech to a van.

It has been two years since the events of Civil War. This movie probably takes place somewhere between 2017 and just before the events of Infinity War.
