I think it's just them shrinking from human size?

Looking closer it does seem that it's her going small and him going big.

Still... I think it would be awesome to spring a giant Hope on the audience. One of the best Wasp moments in any media was her pulling that on Ultron in EMH.

I just hope we get a good Ghost/Wasp fight

Paxton will probably be as big a stickler now as he was in Ant Man 1 given the events of Civil War; wouldn't surprise me because I actually hated Paxton but I thought he was funny too in some ways

Well, I know what I want Ant-Man 3 to be... :o

Mr. Uptight Cop being such a stickler for rules in the first movie, I wonder how they licensed Cassie's pet ant? And, what vaccinations the local animal control decided it had to have?

Hated Paxton but also hated his partner even more

So I bought the Prelude Comics. WTF? it's just a re-telling of the first movie. No discussion of what happened between CW & this one. . . .

lol you funny you about to watch a movie where people can change there sizes to megabig to extreme tiny also to change the sizes from objects like a hellokitty tic tac or a saltchaker and your problem is a Giant Ant who plays Drums ?????

This is a universe in which Raccoons, Trees and Ducks can talk. A human sized ant playing the drums isn't that far of a stretch given what we have seen before in the Marvel universe.

Again, those things are fantastical but the three examples you gave are alien in nature so sure, it could happen. But as far as we know, this is a normal ant that was made larger. Did it also give the ant opposable thumbs so it can hold the drumsticks? Or change it's physiology so it can sit up straight like a human?

I feel like that shot of the ant playing drums isn't in the movie.

I think the giant ant will have a quick scene but probably not playing drums. They can show Scott putting the ankle bracelet on and that is it.

This is a Marvel film with a lead known for comedy.

I can guarantee you all they won't pass up a chance to show a giant ant playing the drums to get a cheap laugh.

I honestly don't get the ant playing the drums is an issue. Maybe Scott used the ant communication device to make the ant sit up the play the drums and they just taped the drumsticks to it's legs. It a little silly, yes, but not a problem in my opinion.

I dunno y its a cheap laugh though. If anything, they earned it as they set it up in the first movie, lol.

The practically anthropomorphized giant ant from the last film is found sitting upright playing drums by the authorities as part of Scott or Hank's plan to get around the ankle bracelet is a cheap laugh. It's literally funny animal humor.

And it better not happen. This is a far step away from Rocket Racoon or Groot... those things are alien, and you know.. benefit of the doubt on that one.

The idea that an ant can play the drums is so ludicrous that it's not funny at all. IF it happens, they better adjust the ant somehow to let him do that... but God almighty, I hope they don't go that route. Out of context, It is literally the stupidest thing I've seen in the whole Marvel Universe so far.

...does it occur to anyone that Scott is probably using his tech to mind-control the ant, thus explaining why it can play drums? Probably doing it to amuse Cassie?

Seems a logical assumption to me.

Well that's still really dumb, because ants don't have thumbs... but I would begrudgingly accept your explanation. If it's a regular ant that's playing drums though... I'm out. That's too much for me.

From what I have seen so far, I'm all in on this movie. We need that light-heartedness that the Ant-Man had to be back, just to take the edge off the serious tone of IW, and to give us time to catch our breath before how close we came to being either Kree or Skrull slaves back in the 90's in CM.

Infinity War spoilers here.
With Scott obviously surviving the finger snap, are we thinking that maybe Hope does not and that's his motivator? Or is it maybe Cassie that turned to dust?

That's fine as an explanation and makes sense... Still doesn't make it an obvious and in your face grab at a joke.

I think humor is indeed just baked into the very concept of Ant-Man. Especially when you have a comedy vet like Rudd in the lead. I wouldn't want an A&M film without some yucks... But you can go "one toke over the line" with that kind of stuff too.

That's what I am thinking too. There is your post credit scene: Our triumphant heroes are gathered together with the Pym's reunited and Scott is with his daughter and then Thanos snaps and Scott sees them disappearing. Another character, let's say it's Hawkeye shows up to bring him into the fray.

The counter to that as has been pointed out me is Evangeline saying in interviews that she was on set for A4. How much and in what capacity is the question. Could be she's just there when the people that "died" return. Could be she is right alongside Scott and the rest of the team for the entire film.

I like the idea that Hope gets dusted as it would add that personal dimension same a story Thor had in IW.
