Secrets from the past part is intriguing.

Yep that's what interests me. We could see interaction involving Douglas & Pfeiffer and how it relates to them.

It would be weird for Thanos and his army to be wrecking the world and for Hope and Pym to be like hey leave all that and aid us.

Why would that need to happen? For all we know this could be between Infinity War and Avengers 4.

Well I get that, I'm just wondering if they're also implying that it the story itself takes place not long after or not.

I think they were implying that the implications of Civil War will be felt but it won't necessarily take place before Infinity War. It'll be weird to have seen IW then two months later watch Ant-Man and the Wasp where it takes place months prior. (Guardians was different since it was so disconnected.)

So if they're just starting today does that confirm those previous set pics of Rudd are indeed from Infinity War?

I thought that was confirmed after they were released. I think I saw something saying that it was for Infinity War and not Ant-Man and the Wasp.

But Thanos won't be twiddling his thumbs once he gets the stones. Ant-Man leaving the battle or gameplan meeting to deal with lower villains would be odd. Thanos is a threat to the entire universe, if he isn't stopped his family is dead no matter what.

I don't think it will be weird. They can make it sort of a mystery like what happen to Ant-Man why wasn't he in IWs. Then we get his movie and find out why.

We don't know he gets all the Stones in Infinity War. And with the Russos stressing that Avengers 4 is not just gonna be a two-part movie like The Hobbit or Deathly Hallows, there will likely be a time skip anyway.

Just as long as the movie doesn't start with "8 Years Later"

I wonder if these types of shenanigans are going to happen between Scott and Jan in the quantum realm:

Is this gonna continue the kinda action comedy of the first or will it have significantly more dramatic and action elements?

Wth...where are these gifs from? Lol.

From Ant-Man and the Wasp. It's how Scott is going to behave when he meets Jan in the quantum realm, much to the chagrin of both Hank and Hope. :oldrazz:

They should learn how to share each other.

I really like that they're keeping the same composer. The score was one of the best things about Ant-Man.

Just having the same theme twice should make it instantly more iconic. Part of how things catch on is by repetition. For TV shows, when they had opening credits with theme music before, this was ingrained in people's minds week after week so that it became inextricably associated with the show, along with all the imagery.

Having different themes for each of the Marvel movies hasn't helped things. Can anyone truly point to what the Iron Man theme is? Or the Thor theme? It's different each time. Which one do you pick?

Ant-Man had a catchy theme already, so repeating it will make it even more contagious and iconic.

Right. And it also fit with the heist tone, it sounded very 70's. Old school stuff.

Couldn't agree more. Going forward I really hope Marvel keeps the music themes for it characters. Changing them every movie was a mistake IMO

That's one of the things that annoyed me the most about MCU; it's like Feige doesn't care much about superhero themes so he changes the composer in every movie. I know they aren't getting John Williams but it's still ridiculous.

Is it Feige or the director who chooses the composer? Surely the director would want a composer who fits in with his vision of what he has filmed. If a director has filmed something and the producer comes in and gets a composer who sticks something over the movie that is completely different, then there would be creative differences arising.

Agreed, it's like they actively wanted new scores for every movie, which doesn't make sense to me. When I go see a sequel, hearing that familiar music again is goose bump inducing.

This big MCU endeavour got a lot of things right, but they never really found a way to create memorable scores for each character, which makes it even more difficult when you have several movies where there are all different kind of characters and you just can't blend everything together.
That being said, I think they're starting to slowly have a cohesive sound, and I think the Captain America films were the ones that used the iconic main theme of Cap, but using variations with each film.
And, besides the Ant-Man score, I really like the main Avengers theme from Alan Silvestri.

Is the Ant-Man theme really evocative of Ant-Man? While I like it, I feel like it was written with the heist elements of the movie in mind, rather than for the character.

Captain America's theme from First Avenger is probably the only theme that instantly captures everything about the character; even after Taking A Stand in Winter Soldier and Cap's Promise in Civil War, the First Avenger theme is still the one I think of in regards to Cap.
