Movie rumors from 4chan (Take with a grain of salt)
The movie will center on Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne on the run after the events of "Captain America: Civil War", trying to prevent the Ant-Man technology from falling into the wrong hands

- Hank Pym will return, but apparently something will take him out of commission for a large portion of the movie

- Luis will return, but the other two, Kurt and Dave, probably won't. Instead, they'll introduce a new batch of quirky criminal associates of Luis

- Although they want to bring Cassie and her mother back, there's a strong possibility Bobby Cannavale's character gets written out of the movie

- The original Wasp will appear, and although numerous actresses have been named like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julianne Moore and Sela Ward, there's no official shortlist and no offers have been made

- Secretary Ross will also be featured here

- Eric O'Grady will be featured as a government-sponsored Ant-Man

- The villains are apparently heavily modified versions of Egghead and Whirlwind, with Egghead being Pym's nemesis back in the Cold War

- There'll be more of the Microverse

- It's apparently maintaining the mostly humorous tone and the elements of a heist movie

that's sounds like a movie that I'd like a lot.

That doesn't sound the greatest, so it's good that it's fake.

Some sounds good, some doesn't. But it's most likely they are fake.

Some of that 4chan speculation seems pretty alright. I'd like to further it.

The Pymtech building was destroyed and presumably took with it all the formula and suit info that Hank had there so gov sponsored Ant-Man seems like it couldn't work. Hank should be one of only 3 people with the tech.

The rest with Ross and the Government being the bad guy while Scott is on the run sort of makes sense as a direction to go in. The heist could be trying to retrieve the tech after the Government stormed Hank's house trying to seize all of his information and assets. Then the use of the tech to retrieve Janet from the microverse.

The movie could focus on 2 stories. 1 with Scott & Hope and the actual Heist being enabled by Hank. The other could be Hank working at a higher level to legitimize his work against the accords. Elihas Starr could be the other side's "expert" who Hank is refuting, and who Hank dealt with in the past. The second could be a modified Dave Cannon/Whilwind. Maybe he got into trouble as a kid and they sent him to the military as a means of rehabilitation. There her became aware of Hydra. Ross doesn't know he's a sympathizer when he sends him out to find Scott and Hope.

I guess I have to question how they end it for Hank and Scott. Does he become an Avenger at the end of it, or does Hank work to establish and run a West Coast Avengers facility and report to the National Security Council similar to Stark. Hank was a big part of SHIELD and it would sort of be fitting for him. This really is their only chance to clean up Avengers in the US in preparation for IFW. Spider-man will be with Tony Stark, Black Panther is in Wakanda, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Guardians will be in Space, and Dr. Strange is doing pretty much his own thing.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sela Ward as Jan. Wouldn't want Julianne Moore who seems too cold.

Mary Steenburgen could make a good Janet. She had good chemistry with Douglas as his love interest in the movie Last Vegas

Mitchell Carson escaped with Cross particles so a version of the formula is out there. Carson wouldn't sell the formula to the U.S government though as he is a member of Hydra.

A government backed Ant-Man-Man is a little too similar to War Machine in the Iron Man franchise.

The 4Chan leak is highly likely fake. We know they are still early in development of the movie and many of these details probably wouldn't be in place yet. Reed already said they have a new genre template anyway so I don't think the next film is a heist movie again.

I would make Whirlwind a obsessed stalker of Hope. He could be a ex-Pym Technologies employee or ex-boyfriend. He becomes jealous of Scott dating her and signs up with the movies villains (Egghead or AIM) to take part in a science experiment that grants him the powers to defeat Scott. In his warped mind he could be trying to prove he is more worthy of her than Scott.

Really looking forward to the sequel... love the first one. Easily in my top three MCU movies

Should come as no surprise, but the sequel will be filmed in Atlanta https://***********/AtlantaFilming/status/771176765544812544

Why was I thinking he didn't survive it or lost it?

I get that it's likely a fake. I just thought despite the fact that it was a fake and we didn't know anything anyway it could be interesting to see where those concepts took us.

So which tier/ list do people think Ant-Man is on now after the success of his movie and his appearance in Civil War and his popularity with the general public? Before, he might've been D-list and definitely a lower-tiered hero. Is he still considered that now?

B-list. People who don't read comics know him, know a little about him, and quite a few of them like him. That's pretty much the definition of B-list. He could conceivably rise, after his own sequel and further Avengers appearances, we'll see.

I'm really curious as to how they're gonna address Civil War pretty much ruining the happy ending of the first film, what with Scott right back to being a wanted felon.

That was my biggest problem with CW, to be honest. Giant Man was awesome and all, but then it also ends up undoing Scott's whole character arc, so...oops?

I'm pretty sure everything will be resolved in Infinity War.

When Thanos turns up I'm sure the world's governments will offer pardons in exchange for fighting Thanos.

Hopefully they also stick Thaddeus Ross in a prison cell, like he should have been many many years before.

I'm cool with him never being more than B-list. it's a good place to be. A-list characters tend to take heel turns, in the comics.

I'm still waiting for more news on that Ant-Man animated short Marvel announced earlier this year.

Ant-Man already had a bunch of flimsy plot issues. For example, how is Scott Lang becoming Ant-Man going to redeem him in the eyes of his daughter and his ex-wife? How will that fix Scott's legal problems and put him in good standing to have shared custody of his daughter?

I think they are probably just going to sweep Ant-Man being a wanted fugitive under the rug.

He's a hero? Before he wasn't even allowed to see Cassie hutnin the end after they know who he is and what he does he's sitting right there with them having dinner. Cassie who was confused why people were calling her dad a bad guy now knows he is a good guy.

I don't know about the shared custody part because I know his ex doesn't think he's terrible anymore but he's a hero and not sure it would be safe for him to have shared custody.

Scott is stopping bad guys as Ant-Man. Not too hard to see why that makes him a hero to his daughter.

Maggie and Paxton seemed ok with Scott at the end of Ant-Man. Not sure how they feel about him joining Team Cap in Civil War and being a wanted fugitive. Scott was a vigilante and fugitive in Ant-Man and Paxton covered for him at the end of the film.

Could always have them be in the "if Cap is an outlaw now, he probably has a good reason" camp.

Except the job he was being asked to do was to break into a corporate office and steal stuff. He wasn't really going in there to do superheroing. So the plan is for him just to go home and say, "OK I'm Ant-Man now. Can I please see my daughter and be a part of her life again?" That makes no sense.

Yeah at the end but that was after everything went fubar and Yellowjacket attacked and tried to murder his daughter. That wasn't part of what they planned. Lang being redeemed in the eyes of his ex-wife and her new boyfriend were only a happy accident.

Exactly and after Civil War that's even more reason in their eyes for them to want to keep Cassie away from Scott because then his enemies could use her as leverage against him and they could keep her away from Scott to protect her
