How about this guys... that bomb was going off in an hour or so anyway. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Who said the jet was private? I'm just assuming that he landed on an airport, as must people assume how he came back to Gotham in TDKR. He might have landed in a private unwatched by Bane's men airport by a smuggler's plane, shaved his beard and went on to talk with Selina.Again, I don't think every little detail must be presented to the public or else we would have a 5 hour long movie. People must fill some of the gaps. Why didn't Nolan show how Joker or his henchmen rigged a whole hospital to blow in just 5 minutes of time? When did Bruce go to an airport in BB? He had a private jet by the look of it when Alfred picked him up... probably landed anywhere. After his face was on the news and he was back in public I'm sure all was sorted.
But the plot wasn't built around how the hosptial was an impossible place to get into and set up explosives. TDKR is built around a city being occupied and shut off for the world impossible for anyone to get inside or out. Therefore a character with no gadgets, weapons, disguise or help to just sneak in deserves a little explanation even if he is Batman.People must fill some of the gaps. The EMP blocker ONLY WORKS if it is mounted on the bomb!!!!!!!!
it wasn't mounted on the bomb until right before Talia pulled the trigger... Batman/The Cops had already started the war!

I'd really like to know the travel agents/pilots that booked Bruce's Trip to Hong Kong and brought back Batman and a Chinese hostage in TDK.
And Batman already states to Gordon that Bane may press the trigger when the war starts, but Bane doesn't bother to do such nor did Talia when she had the trigger. What's really the point of this thread? The dialogue was obvious and we see what happened. Batman thought Bane would press the trigger right away, but no such thing happened.
Which is exactly why the TC created this post. Bruce didn't know that Talia was going to wait to reveal herself before detonating the bomb, so he was worried (rightfully so) that whoever had the trigger would detonate it if anyone tried to go after Bane (remember, he is still going off their initial threat).
Now, why would wouldn't he wait, perhaps even help Gordon put the EMP on the bomb? He knew Bane was at City Hall, so why doesn't Batman, Gordon, Blake, and whoever else go after the bomb, neutralize it, and then go after Bane and the League of Shadows? You have a way to negate the triggerman problem completely with the EMP. It just doesn't make sense given what information we had from earlier in the film.
The bomb didn't have any extra protection on it, you could even ambush all three with the hundreds of cops now coordinated and with Batman's tech online and running. He had The Bat at that point even, they would have had a huge advantage if they were that worried about the bomb.
If you were to think logically as Bruce, and Bane was a man of his word, the first rush of police would be enough to set off the bomb. What, is he taking a gamble on Bane's intentions? Not only does it make more sense for Batman and his forces to take care of the bomb with the EMP first, it would been a better finale with Batman, Catwoman, Blake and Gordon facing off against Bane, Talia, and the League of Shadows in a War Games scenario, rather than a 2 minute chase scene followed by flying into the sunset.
The novelisation backs you up on this as well. "Bane had claimed City Hall as his headquarters. His army wasn't going to surrender it without a fight."Initially, Bane does not look like he plans on brawling in the street war. He will supervise and command from the height of the stairs.
But once Batman is in the mix, Bane can't stop himself.
We know Batman has to confront Bane, but doing this now buys the good guys time. His presence calls Bane out and dilutes the focus and precision of the LOS.
It makes excellent tactical sense to me.

I wish we saw that more in the film. Would have been good see Bane ordering people and looking like a leader.
... He didn't look like a leader in the movie?
You guys are seriously nitpicking the hell out of this movie! What about Bruce saving Ducard at the begining of BB(holding on one arm and pulling up a 200+ lbs man)?
What about all the crazy Joker plans in TDK that came out of nowhere(like the hospital scene) or Batman falling with Rachel with half his cape spread?I can go on and on pointing flaws of the previous movies, yet only this movie gets hate...It just baffles me!?

Yeah, let's look at the bigger issue. Didn't Bane just have that bomb driven around for MONTHS, holding the city ransom? I'm sorry, but THAT is stupid and lazy. How in the world did they manage to have the bomb being driven around for months before they came up with some sort of a plan, without putting some kind of real effort to get it away or deactivate it? I dont know, I'm just not buying it. Made me laugh at the movie honestly.

In the 2 initial speeches (blackgate and stadium) and a little in the war but in that big gap between he was barely in it. But I was just saying a scene in City Hall where Bane was giving out orders and wanting to know the situation of Gotham would have been pretty cool to see.

What about his swagger walk when the army of cops comes walking down the street?![]()
t: but before that up to the blackgate speech I think Bane only decent chunk of dialogue "hang them where.....". A scene with Bane mocking the citizens of Gotham or him giving orders would have been cool but he seemed to just disappear. That's what I meant when I said "a little in the war"t: but before that up to the blackgate speech I think Bane only decent chunk of dialogue "hang them where.....". one thing to keep in mind - Gordon nor Bats knew at this time who Talia was,so they had NO idea that she had purposely tagged the wrong truck! remember the scene where Miranda nods to Gordon that the passing truck is giving off the radiation for the nuke, and then Gordon tags it. well before the battle started, they both assumed that the truck that was tagged was the one with the nuke.

Just like Bane's "open fire" order to the Tumblers. It is said Bane expected the police army to break ranks and run at any moment once the shooting started at them. Clearly meaning as well he didn't expect a fight. When The Bat arrives out of the sky, the novel said this isn't part of Bane's plan, as it raises police morale and they charge. When Batman comes down into combat, it is then when Bane thinks "no matter, I broke you once, I can do it again" and walks down the steps to face off in battle, impatiently searching for his 'true enemy'.
