One thing that I'm really digging about Civil War,is seeing Cap fighting alongside characters you usually wouldn't see him with, mainly the street characters.Usually he's side by side with the big guns like Iron Man,Thor, etc.fighting global and cosmic threats on a worldwide scale.

But seeing Cap fighting alongside the likes of Luke Cage,Iron Fist/"Daredevil",Cloak and Dagger is truly something different and a very cool thing to see. This really hit home when I was reading New Avengers #22 with Cap,Cage,DD and Falcon taking on a horde of SHIELD agents in Harlem beautifully drawn by Yu.

Just something I noticed about CW so far that I am really enjoying.

Hercules isn't street level, but I see what your saying, and I do like it.

Yeah, it's nice to see Cap among those who are a bit closer to his own power level. Although, given his fight with Spider-Man in this week's ASM, I'd say Cap's power level has jumped a bit. He's gotta at least be faster than I remember to pwn Peter like that in close quarters.

Im enjoying it as well, but man, it seems like Tony's side has all the brains (Himself, Reed, Pym), AND all the brawn (Thor, Sentry, Wonderman)....

Here's hoping a bunch of X-Men and the Inhumans eventually back Cap (Black Bolt has fought Thor to a standstill, and beaten the Hulk twice...i bet he could handle Mr. crybaby Sentry, lol)...

Well Corp, wouldnt you think that Cap being an expert in combat and such, that cloe quarters with Spidey might actually give him that advantage I can see spidey fighting him from far away and such with webs. Then in close capp has his shield and his fairly decent experience in fighting that Cap giving spidey a run for his money might be believable. But I could be completely wrong.

Corp is one of the best posters on the hype!!!!!!................did I score any brownie points??

No.

I dig it...its a bunch of fun...have to pick up this weeks releases

I don't know if you would class Hercules "street", but for me he's been the standout character of the mini.

Spider-Man says that Cap's combat expertise gives him the advantage in close quarters because he knows more about fighting than Spidey could learn in a hundred years, or something to that effect. But Spider-Man's fought superior fighters in close quarters before and his spider-sense and speed have more than made up for his lack of fighting experience. He's taken down loads of Hand ninjas with ease, for example. They're not as good as Cap, obviously, since Cap's taken down loads of Hand ninjas with ease as well, but the point is that his speed, spider-sense, and agility were easily able to compensate for what he lacked in fighting skill. That leads me to believe that Cap may be a lot faster than I've been giving him credit for.

And, um... you get... 3 and a half brownie points?

Thor better have amnesia or be buried under Don Blake's personality like he was originally or something. The entire character's history implies that he would side with Cap. I'm hoping the next issue has a reasonable explanation beyond Millar's just not getting Thor at all.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the point of having the more powerful and smarter people side with Tony (however forced it may be in some cases) is to cast Cap's group in the rose-tinted spotlight of the underdog. Millar the uber-lefty has obviously set Tony's side up as an analogue to the current White House, with its oppressive laws impinging on individuals' freedoms under the guise of greater security, and he wants Cap's side to be the underdogs because everyone loves the underdog.

I was thinking the same thing while I was reading this

Then again, Tony doesn't seem to remember saying this either...

Kind of off topic but was that EMH mini by Kolins and Casey a quality good read?

Whats that from? It looks pretty good

it's from a mini called Earth's Mightiest Heroes it's actualy pretty good depending on what kind of stories you enjoy.

It's kinda like a re-telling of the original Avengers up to the point where the roster changed to Cap,Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, only the focus is now behind the scenes rather than on the fights with the villains.

I'm gonna go sort of with the whole "This suit is totally ****ing with my Spidey Sense" thing to where it only works when Tony wants it to work.

That would explain why SM is getting his ass handed to him by CA.

Er... what exactly did "imageCave File Not Found" make you think of?

And here Tony is saying exactly what would have happened if he had stuck with his fellow heroes in CW instead of acting like a dick

Sorry, I erased the wrong file in my album, it's fixed now  .

I see. Yeah, if Thor even cared about human governments, he'd be much likelier to come down on Cap's side. Two major reasons spring to mind in that vein: 1) Odin decreed that all Asgardians would stop answering prayers and stuff so that man could develop on its own terms, without the Asgardians giving them handouts, and 2) Thor remembers how badly things turned when he did try to supervise mankind in the King Thor saga. Both of those, in political terms, mean that Thor would probably be against oversight by a "higher power," regardless of whether it's a god or a government. If human superheroes want their privacy, they deserve their privacy.

I like that Cap is going back to his main beliefs. Its amazing to see him fighting with the street heroes. Thor being on Iron Mans side just pisses me off because he hasn't really changed over the years so why is he acting like he does.
