I was in my local comic book shop yesterday, I am sad to see that some fanboys are still pissy about Miles in the Ultimate Spider Man series. I could understand their outrage if the killed of 616 Peter Parker for no reason and replaced him, but the whole point of the ultimate line is to take risks and modernize classic characters. I don't think it's written in stone over at Marvel that every version of Spider Man must be Peter Parker and he must be white. That's just close minded fanboy talk. If they actually read any of the comics they would see that Miles is a likeable character, but all the close minded or closet racist fanboys see is is skin color and dismiss him. If Miles was just another white guy taking the place of Peter there wouldn't have been that much outrage. Heck, was't Micheal O Hare from Spider Man 2099 Hispanic or half Hispanic and he didn't get as much hate like Miles has. Miles is black and Hispanic and its like the end of the world for some fanboy's really?

What makes Spider Man so cool is that he is sort of like this every man type of super hero. In one issue 616 Spider Man took on a racist thug. He said something along the lines of "I could be anyone under this mask, so watch your mouth". That line really sums up the character in a lot of ways for me, and what makes him so easy to relate to. It's just sad that a lot of Spidey's fans are closet racist.

3 out of the 5 are Wolverine supporting characters. Lindsay McCabe was a supporting character in the early issues of the first volume of Wolverine's solo. She wore Psylocke's old armor before Logan gave it to Psylocke to wear.

The eXiles version of Mariko was pretty cool. She was never my favorite character on the book, but she was never at the bottom of the list either. And she was easily my favorite gay Marvel character. It was nice to see her finally happy with MJ, even if it was only for a brief time.

I dunno but I think we're running out of people. Either somebody consults a Marvel Encyclopedia or perhaps it's time for a reboot....a 'Crisis on Infinite Opinion Threads' if you will.

Once upon a time, I actually would have KILLED for your (and this) thread...just to monopolize the Marvel/DC battle/voting/opinion/liked-theme threads. But yes, once these threads have been going for as long as they have, it becomes more difficult to do enough new with them.

Sad, now I don't even want it (can't manage it...I'm trying to keep the U DC/M thread fresh, the MxDC one is close to 1500 rounds, and your thread has done all the DC characters I wanted to do)

Plenty of characters I got through the encyclopedia, like Oddball
But I check the encyclopedia more to get pictures I hope won't crash the page, as what happened with the previous thread, I couldn't even post a new character
