It all comes down to defining details. For Ra's, it's the funky chin beard, for Scarecrow, it's the mask.

Uh... okay... so let me get this straight... Ra's' beard and Scarecrow's mask are "defining details" but Joker's green hair isn't?

This is stupid, everyone can see it is stupid, move on.

Okay, at the risk of flaming (AGAIN), compare and look.

The buzz cut Joker that you should remember and 'love' (from a designer suggesting a new look):-

I'll give my opinion and say that whilst the first 2 may look better for Ledger, theres an obvious fact that he'll look all of 20 years old (even now). The buzz cut may not be the Joker everyone expects, but it would suit the type of character Ledger has gone online to want to play. I say it'll be a cross between pic 2 and 3 (spiky hair, maybe).

I, for one, do not want my Joker looking like an emo-rocker reject from My Chemical Romance. :o

I don't want to read all this stuff. So....can someone tell me....why WOULD we get a bald Joker??

basically, dude thinks that realistically the chemical bath would cause jokers hair to fall out

Actually I wouldn't mind a black joker.
it wouldn't really make a difference if he spends the entire movie in white make up. although some may miss the aqualine features the character is supposed to have.

The Dude from CSI can play a good black joker and he has Ledger's build too.

Strangely I do not hate this. While the clothing and hair are not what I would prefer, I love the way the face is done here, especially those EVIL eyes. I would not mind that type of Joker face.

Uh, dont even mention that movie in here. And besides he didn't have the red lips

Uhhh... not to mention the fact that Powder was an albino with strange powers, generally NOTHING like Joker...?

^ I cant believe they make movies like that.

That's a Heath picture from the end of October and it's the most recent one I can find.

He still has mid-length hair. No buzz cut. End of discussion.

yeah i hate the hair and clothes too but the makeup isn't that bad. the eyes kinda remind me abit of marylin manson.

It still seems to be me to be very poseur-punk-rock Joker. I like the grin, and the eyes, but the overall look is crass, and the Joker's supposed to have class - I mean, like an expensive, well-fitting suit, polished shoes, the who shabang.

Hey, I agree with ya, lady J. But the thing I'm responding to positively is the face - especially the eyes and mouth. I agree that the clothes and hair are not optimal. I think Joker should be dressed to the nines. He thinks he's a pimp.

ALTHOUGH... to play devil's advocate for just a moment...

Joker first arrived in, what, 1940? Weren't spats and tailcoats rather an anachronism even then? Not to mention being ridiculously formal? Is it not crass to wear a tuxedo to go robbing people? Isn't Joker's appearance really, at its heart, just flashy? Isn't it a fair interpretation of the character to say that his choice of clothing is meant to call attention to him, to make him stick out in a crowd? To make sure you remember him?

I don't even know which side of this discussion I'm on, but I think it's interesting to argue the point. :D

All "**** idea for the movie" talk aside, that picture you posted is hella cool.
