How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: The basic geist? I'm looking to spinoff and somewhat re-energise a long since dead RPG that had run rather successfully up until recently, with some stellar storytelling... The Multiversers: Hypertime. (Click on the link to read up on the past game) It was basically an RPG that was featured in paralell universes, with a team that would be assembled of Elseworld universe heroes and, on the rare occasion, villains, to fix potential disasters in different DC and Marvel related histories. The RPG would not go by seasons, but rather, missions, where a new team is formed and sent to a certain universe to make what is destiny happen, and prevent the events of time from falling offcourse. The RPG would be open to DC and Marvel Elseworld characters, aswell as characters from Vertigo and Wildstorm imprints.

The RPG itself would be GM controlled, but with imput allowed from players. There would be at least two GM's at the start (myself and byrd), though we're leaving a spot open for twylight if/when she ever gets time to aide, as she was a vital part of the original RPG. Other GM's and mods would be added as time went on, naturally, if the RPG becomes a success.

In the vast reaches of space and time, an interplanetary version of the apokoliptian ruler known as Darkseid achieves that many have deemed impossible: He has succeeded in apprehending a cosmic cube, one of the most powerful sources of energy in the universe. Powered by a mastering of the cube's infinite power, Darkseid has decided to delay his ultimate conquest of the universe to achieve something far more primitive, yet ultimately sastisfying: revenge. Seeking to destroy the enemies he has long seen as a nuiscance, The Justice Legion Alpha, Darkseid uses the interplanetary map of the Multiverses, the Worlogog, to set a devastating chain of events that could possibly erase key points in every hero's life throughout the galaxy, and potentially erase them from existence. With the Justice Legion powerless to stop him, Kal Kent sends out a desperate plea for help throughout the Multiverse, gathering a team of universal warriors and legends to ultimately aid in both fixing Darkseid's damages to history, and succeed in ridding the tyrant of the Equation he misuses. Heroes far and wide answer the call, as they, The Justice Legion, and the mysterious force known only as The Beyonder go forth into action. They are The Multiversers.

I think you need to mention that Marvel characters are included in this as well, MB. You only barely hint at it with the Cosmic Cube inclusion.

But yes, Marvel characters are allowed. Aswell as Vertigo and Wildstorm.

Interesting. So no main universe people, correct? Also, you have to choose characters that are already established in the alternate universes then? I was checking out some stuff in the original Multversers RPG, and it looked like they were entirely new, created characters.

They were, for the most part, though some were stemmed off of ideas from the Elseworld titles. (Such as Batman Beyond and Savitar)

Truthfully, I hadn't thought about that element of it. Or at least, to the point I probably should have. I'd need to converse with byrd about it, but perhaps that liberty could be intergrated into the game...

And no, no main universe people, from DC or Marvel. Vertigo and Wildstorm, sure, but no one like Superman/Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne/Batman from Earth 1, or 616 Spider-Man and Daredevil.

I'd say that it doesn't matter if their from an unestablished universe, as long as it's a good enough character.

Personally, I think Superman Prime should be off limits. Dude was pretty much god-like, and he'd be able to take out Darkseid and end the threat all by his lonesome. Living in the sun for like a million years will do that.

Now, Superman (1,000,000) on the other hand, he'd be damn powerful, but no where on the level of Prime.

The Justice Legion Alpha (The 853rd century Justice League) will approach each member chosen for the team, through a version of the Worlogog held by that universe's Hourman, which is essentially a map of the space-time continuim. They'll use it to penpoint Darkseid's exact useage of the Worlogog he's aqquired, and send the Chosen off on their missions.
