Aqua - Discussion Thread(Spoilers)

The Aquaman ep was better than I thought it was going to be, but it wasn't nearly as awesome as the previous episodes this season. Some observations:

- Lana doesn't seem to notice that Clark has no scar on his bare chest after getting shot recently eh? Either she knows his secret or she's really dumb....or the writers think we the viewers are very dumb.

-I'm glad someone did their homework with Aquaman's origin so it wasn't too far off from the comic. Ditto with the "Superboy" and "JLA" gags.

-Lex is all out evil now apparently after seeing him torture poor A.C.

-And speaking of "out", that was a pretty gay moment between Lex and Clark when Lex made that crack about his "pitchfork."

-RE: Next episode with the vampires -- I will be totally amazed if this isn't completely stupid. Did we not learn anything from the "Witches of Smallville" episode?

Or that the viewers werent paying attention and didnt see the big bandage on Clark's stomach ;)

It's a Halloween episode, and I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt since the show has been on fire so far this season

I thought the episode was pretty good. The guy that played "AC" definitely had the Aquaman look down, and the orange/green clothing was a nice touch.

Best part of the episode was the "JLA" remark....I actually laughed out loud for that one.

How good does Lois look in a bathing suit? Lana must be really insecure about her body, she's walking around in a frickin' one piece!

The part at the end with Lois and Clark talking about finding someone special was nice to see, it was a total "teaser" moment.

Great episode over all but I hate that they haven't really shown Clark use his powers all that much (with the exception of stopping the rocket). I would've loved to see Clark and AC REALLY use their powers to stop Lex's machine.

I agree with your points, but that's just about the WORST Superman quote ever in your signature... ;)

Did she really need to rip on the guy's breath minutes after he saved her life? Then she's falling over herself drooling for him.

Although she didnt exactly say it, I think she was meaning he had smelly fish breath.

lol..well I didn't really like Run, but I thought it was a good episode, I liked Aqua better only because there were other storylines going on..I loved the introduction to Prof. Fine, and the scenes between Clark and Lex..I felt like Aqua moved the characters forward more. I've gone over it a million times, trying to think of why I didn't enjoy Run, and I think I'm just not that keen on storylines that don't focus on Clark, selfish and perhaps slightly obsessive I know, but I didn't care enough about the Flash kid to watch an episode about him, as good as he was. But like I said, it was a well done episode, just not one of my personal favorites. And Aqua will probably one of my lesser favorites too, but I still enjoyed it more than Run.

I'm with you Melly, I could never really get what all the hype about Run was. This one had a much more interesting story going on with our core characters.

I loved Clark's line when he said to Lex "that he wasnt going to believe his lies anymore" and then when he walked off and said "I guess I am naive" So he really does know that he's a BDA.:)

Its funny as they never film an episode in sequence but I thought Alan Ritchson's acting got better as the show progressed, or maybe it was that his character developed further as the show progressed. However, his surfie language didnt bother me and I didnt really notice it either, living in Southern California in a house with 3 teenage boys, I here that kind of talk all the time.

All the nods were slipped in really well.

Clark/Brainiac/Lex - this is going to be absolutely awesome watching this story unfold.

And I loved the little scene at the end beteen Clark and Lois, him with his red t-shirt, standing behind Lois looking very much like the cape, and Lois in front in her blue shirt, symbolising the body. :) It'll make a great screen capture if anyone out there has the means to do it.

Thirst looks like its going to be a real fun Halloween episode, and a really good laugh. Looking forward to it.

Run was actually one of my favorite episodes the show has done. This one was great too!

I didnt dislike it and it was a well put together story, but they're have been more stories that I have enjoyed alot more.

There setting up, after they introduce two more DC heroes we are going to have a JLA episode for Season 7.

Anyone notice when A.C. was giving Lois mouth to mouth, he totally touched her boob.;)

Very good episode,WB should spinoff Aquaman into his own series.
IMHO,Man from Atlantis style.

Ok, I’m back on the love train now. I loved the first episode of this season but then I didn’t like the two after it and started to give up on the show. Just by chance I taped Aqua last night. I have class and I get home really late so I wasn’t even going to watch it last night but as I was falling asleep, I popped it in. This is the first episode this season I have watched without fast forwarding at all. The story was very good. The acting was better. And I actually liked Lois. I am shocked. I laughed out loud when she said that her first book in college was a bartender’s book. (TWOP shout-out!) I think the writer’s get it that we think she’s a drunk and they appear to be in on the joke, which helps a lot. Also we finally got a “hero” who teaches Clark to change instead of the other way around. Clark was in his usual judgmental state, thinking that AC must be evil. And he actually changed his mind and followed someone else to get the job done.

Even more, I am loving evil Lex. There is still this vulnerability there that made me feel bad that he didn’t get to WOW his potential buyers with his great invention, even though I am happy that the weapon was destroyed. It’s that kind of complexity that makes Lex so intriguing in the future and I hope the writers go with that.

I understand Lois a little bit more now. She is that girl who always tries to act like she’s an expert on something. When she was drinking with the college kids, she was all, “I drank with generals.” When she is challenged about swimming, she’s all, “I swam with Navy Seals.” Half the stuff she says is probably an exaggeration but for some reason, I find that quirkiness more understandable than her random partying from last season. Also, I understand why Lois falls in love with Superman and not Clark first now. The line about “saving the world instead of owning it” shows that she’s got her eye out for compassion and greatness. That would also explain why she ends up flirting with Lex later too. He can sometimes be confusingly heroic.

So anyway, I’m happy. I will be skipping next week’s episode so I don’t have to get on the hate train. LOL!

But there's some really great Brainiac stuff going on next week, with the ship and everything.

Then Chloe starts work at the Planet and Princess Leia is her boss. You should watch it, or at least tape it newbrando.

You might be right. I don't watch stuff with vampires though. Worse case scenerio, I'll read a detailed summary of the show and then watch the good parts.

I really look forward to this scene!

Fine And The Spaceship
- In one of the last scenes of the episode, Fine has made his way into the LuthorCorp hangar and is face to face with the black Kryptonian spaceship. He smiles like a man returning home. He reaches out to touch the ship, but is interrupted by a clicking noise. Lex's henchman, Ramirez, is behind him and has a gun pointed to his head. "Shouldn't be putting your hands on things that aren't yours, professor," Ramirez tells him.
- "Actually, it is mine," Fine tells him. His hands morph into black metal spikes which pierce Ramirez's skull. Fine turns back to the ship and touches it. As his hand touches the ship, it too morphs into black metal. His entire body follows as he is absorbed back into the hull of the ship.....

I would never have done that guys. :)

My husband pointed it out and all I did was say "I bet she was having a hard time keeping a straight face". I expect those kinds of things from my husband I would actually think he was slipping if he didn't notice.

HAHAHAHA I had no idea they wrote it. Nice catch Triplet.

:D

The only reason I caught that was because I do like to do a little research for my reviews, and remembered that was in the list of the ones they did.... ;)

Reading up on James Marsters actually was very interesting... I gotta love a guy who co-founds a theatre group named after the group run by Orson Welles.

He's getting a glowing review for this episode from me, btw. Marsters did a brilliant job with not a whole lot of screen time.

Alan Ritchson, not so much.

THIS EPI WAS AWESOME, THE UNDERWATER BATTLE WAS SWEET, I REALLY HOPE THEY BRING AQUAMAN BACK. LEX WAS A BASTARDO, AND LOIS LOOKED REALLY HOT! :p :D
