Are there any banned Members that you kind of miss? - Part 2

I really miss Shadowlord. I think he got one of those temporary bans over TDK and he never came back.

I miss Alexthegreat, I think that was his name, he was canadian. I remember being really shocked that he got banned, because he always seemed pretty level-headed and chill in his posts.
Except for the 10 infractions he racked up....

Yeah, I got to know him briefly & he seemed like a nice guy. It's a shame he got banned.

I think an angel gets its wings in doing so.

Can mods infract themselves?

If you mean - can a mod infract another mod...the answer is yes. We have also had mods report their own posts and say they think they went over the line and may need an infraction for it.

Interesting ... Kind of like calling the police on your own noisy party that's gotten out of hand.

Who has done this? I'd like to interview them.

I once asked to be banned from a site because I didn't want the possibility of visiting there and wasting time getting distracted. At first they thought I was joking but then later obliged.

We get more of that than you would think.... and if people ask for it, I give it.

I saw a banned mod

Kinda weird to ask for that when they have the power to edit or delete their posts

I can understand that though. Some people want to move on with their lives and feel that a certain place ties them to the past, or maybe they have things to concentrate on (work/ studies etc) and certain sites draw them away from it or make them addicted and they need to take drastic action to break free.

But what if these self-banning people want to come back? Have they any way of contacting admins to be reinstated?

Stop me before I kill again, huh?

I like that is thread is also a thread for asking questions about infractions and getting banned.

Yep. This thread is very informative.

I won't argue three out of my five infractions because, in perspective, I earned them with my language, but the other two I call shenanigans on.

I don't. He was just as pompous as the Nolanites with his Anti-Nolan views.

Hulk :(

I can't see why he was banned other than being a hyper fanboy...

ADDING - ahh, now I get it... I retract my statement from the record.
