Are there any banned Members that you kind of miss?

We're all jerks, but BL turned it into an art. BL, StorminNorman, WhyAreYouCrouching... good riddance all. I applaud the mods for doing their jobs.

Timstuff seemed like kind of nice guy. I've seen him frequent other places on the internet, and in all of those places he seems to handle himself pretty well.

Unless, of course, there was something that he did on these forums that I didn't know about.

That is why I was asking, because I am unversed in this part of his behaviour that you are bringing up, I'm wondering if I would agree with that assessment, because of course, one man's 'insufferable', can be another man's 'passionate believer who maybe gets impatient from time to time with others who misunderstand him and chastise him, but has his heart in the right place when all is said and done.'

I was wondering what behaviour caused him to be banned, when he obviously had a lot to offer.
was he cheeky? sarcastic?
It would just be, on some subjects, he believed himself to be ungodly right and got extremely insulting and demeaning if anyone dared disagreed with him.

As you should well know, I don't offend easy. I'm cool with most guys being utter ***** during arguments. But Norman...he went pretty far with it.
Actually, come to think of it, he did talk one time about how there was a rule around here about being 'insubordinate', and he felt he had been unfairly treated at least one time with this rule, like, how you could be infracted or banned if you spoke to a moderator in a way that they found to be 'insubordinate', and he gave the impression that this was a dangerous rule to have, as of course, mods are people too, and are subject to emotional reactions that may be in the vein of overreacting, so could ban you for personal reasons, perhaps even unconciously.

This is along the lines of what he was also saying(might even have been part of the same discussion thread actually) about how moderators should give up their power every few years, and let others take on the jobs, so that there is less risk of some kind of power led mentality creeping into their minds, that could affect how they relate to other posters.
I mean, I can't put it as eloquently as he did, and I apologise to him if I am putting his point across wonky, but as I recall, this is along the lines of what he was talking about, that I thought was sound, level headed, sensible thinking.
You have a very active imagination. :o

I don't miss someone who sent me repeated homophobic private messages.

That's pretty bad. Who did that, BL or Norman? I had a poster (who I won't name) PM me to tell me I'm a "self-loathing Jew" once. In fairness, he apologized later.

BL told me once I wouldn't know a hard days work if it bit me in the ass. I don't know how he thought he knew this, but he twice messaged me to say "or maybe you'd like to get bit in the ass".

That doesn't sound homophobic to me. If he said take it up....well yeah.

Also, it's awesome you're calling him out as a homophobe when he can't defend himself.

What else could he possibly mean by that though?

Is getting bit in the ass a purely homosexual act?

You're either very naive or you chose to ignore the obvious implication. Come on, it's pretty damn obvious what he meant and why he said it. Don't play ignorant.

BL liked to come to the gay rights thread and stir **** up by going on these rants about how the gay rights movement comparing itself to the civil rights movement is offensive, etc.

He seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about it.

And no, getting bit in the ass isn't a purely homosexual act, but I think it's a little overly coincidental he just happened to direct it at me.

So everytime I say "That will come back to bite you on the ass" I'm being homophobic?

I don't know if BL was or was not. I never saw him post anything overtly homophobic. Of course my main gripe is, he can't come here and defend himself which is why I question this being brought up now.

The more I think about it the more I'm glad he's gone. He always seemed angry about something; just loved his haterade.

So no criticizing people who cant defend themselves?

I mean, I don't remember Schlosser bringing this up when he was still here. I just question the timing.

If Schlosser got banned tonight, and I posted tomorrow "Yeah Schlosser was totally a Neo-Nazi, he told me." That would be kind of ****ed up, even if it was true.
