The Wolverine "Are These All The Reviews You Brought?" -The Official Review Thread

One thing I am liking about Origins in this rewatch is all the wide shots and helicopter shots giving some visual scope to it.

I agree

It's funny how a terrible film (IMHO) like Springsteen and I garner a 90% from critics YET other good films get trashed.

I guess he is the BOSS, so that Garners a FRESH?

lol

Well, Springsteen is pretty awesome...

IMHO it will be hard to maintain even a 50% from the top critics now whether they really like it or not. They will follow and the current trend which is now ROTTEN.

sadly....

btw! I saw the film and it's actually better than Xmen 2 United in pacing, editing, story, feel, use of lenses and overall acting.

Not much faith... TONS of positive reviews were posted today...along with the negative ones.

It's interesting that all the rated films that are opening this weekend are rated "fresh". I assume the two that have no review yet were not available for prescreening and are therefore garbage.

another review from the Star Tribune in Minneapolis will post shortly as good.

Posts tomorrow, I can see it early because I am a member of the site.

YET another good review:
Review: 'Wolverine' almost gets its claws into hero's soul

By Randy Myers
San Jose Mercury News Correspondent

For a sturdy 90 minutes, one of Marvel comics' most intriguing creations is served well by director James Mangold's "The Wolverine."
The popular X-Men teammate with the razor claws, scalding temper and deep-seated angst is presented with a substantial story line, one that at least initially prefers character and narrative depth over nonstop action.

At this point it should keep the same ratio when all 200+ reviews come in. Hope we can get back into the 70s.

I agree.

I am hoping for 70% ALL CRITICS

and at least 62% for TOP CRITICS

This really is a good movie, it's not just because I am a Xmen fan. I am also an editor and a film critic myself.

I often find myself editing films as I watch them at the theatre. I often catch myself saying things like "terrible choice editing", "why", "needed more", needed less" etc.

This movie I actually watched it saying "perfect choices", "perfect editing", "great use of the camera" etc.

Nothing to me was over the top or jarring.

Just loved it.

I haven't even looked at it. It's going to be what it's going to be, I have no control over it, and refuse to stress over it.

I saw it. I loved it. I'm seeing it again tomorrow. And I met Hugh Jackman before I saw it.

It's all good.
