Personally I'm not excited about this reboot because they're doing it to focus back on the one part of Raimi's trilogy that he got right, which is the early years.
Say what you want about the films, but aside from the absence of Gwen Stacy, Raimi did justice to Spiderman's journey in the first film. I really don't see what they can conjure up to make this fresh and interesting. I'm ready to see spider-MAN, I'm tired of the sobbing, woe is me, adolescent teenager, it's been done for 2 and 1/2 movies already!
I was all for a reboot with a slightly more mature looking and acting Peter Parker. This just feels like a kick to the face to everything that was positive about Raimi's films. It's tantamount to a Batman reboot in 2015 focusing on Bruce Wayne's early years again, I mean, do we really need to go through this again?
