Arkham Asylum: The Thread for Debating the Insane Topic of Batman Realism

Guys, at this point I think the debate on whether Batman is a superhero or not has run its course. If people want to live in a fantasy world where they love the super adult, not at all a children's icon that sells toys, and is definitely not a superhero to make themselves feel more adult or something, let them. At this point the arguments are circular and going nowhere. Don't keep feeding the insanity
So condescending.

Wikipedia. FUnny.
I would expect someone, who claims to have such adult sensibilities to be more mature and not resort to such, what is the word.... right, CHILDISH, insults.

We will see you after The Batman is released. Hopefully, you can take some time for some contemplation regarding real maturity.

While I absolutely agree with the primary point of this post that the debate is just running around in circles and should be left to die, I do think the bolded part comes across as unnecessarily condescending and dismissive of actual arguments that have been provided here.

I mean no disrespect to anyone here, but I’ve seen several similar posts from users in this thread that come across as bitingly presumptive and condescending. Shauner’s baiting isn’t helpful, of course, but we could all stand to ease up a bit on our comments in here, right?

Either way, best of wishes to everyone! We’re mere weeks away from a new Batman film, that should be cause for celebration.

“I was NOT trolling whatsoever. Wasn’t trying to get a rise out of anyone. I still stand by opinions so how is that trolling?”

That is not even what the ban reasons say, it says flaming and insubordination. Andy, don't make yourself a conduit for shauner unless you want to join him on vacation.

Spider-Fan's post imo, speaks to the ridiculousness of the conversation at hand. Again, we are talking about the guy who dresses up like a bat who fights a colorful rogues gallery, and adopts kids to also fight crime. There are plenty of things that are subjective. There are plenty of things to argue over. But once we get to a point on where people, with a straight face, are arguing that one of the three most popular superheroes of all time isn't a superhero, on a superhero board? That's beyond ridiculous at that point.

I think Reeves can pull off a Robin sidekick. A guy dressing up as a Bat and jumping off rooftops clearly has issues. I wouldn't put it pass him making this logical in a way for this version of Batman to feel that way. Guided under discipline, a moral code, martial arts etc. Most of us LOVE the animated series on here, and it worked on there not cause it was in animated form, but because of how good the story/material was. I trust Matt Reeves either way.

Can somebody tell me what kind of a world we live in where a man dressed up as a BAT...isn't considered a superhero?

After Dawn and War, I think Reeves can pull off just about anything.

Also, can someone do us a favor of tivo' ing' these past few pages. I have a feeling some mods might come clean this up and that precious hype history mustn't be lost for new generations to come.

I also think that your way of framing things has come across as a bit condescending, or at least that's how I've interpreted it. Tho I agree Batman is a superhero.
