I was thinking today, as much as BB is, one of the things that got to me is that Arkham Asylum is in the city--in the Narrows, to be exact. I know this works for the context of the film, but whenever I think of AA, I think of an old, creepy house on the hill.

I think it would be cool that, if in the next film, it is revealed that the locale in the city in BB was a newer facility, as the original asylum had been closed for like 100 years as it was outdated. It would also be neat if, due to the damage caused in BB, the inmates had to be moved back to the old structure which had not yet been renovated, and still has that old turn-of-the-century eerieness.

I know it's stupid, but I like it :whatever:

Hmm... I suppose that's a possibility. Perhaps the Powers That Be (tm) realise that keeping an asylum for the criminally insane in the heart of the city might not be such a good idea after the events of BB, and instead of spending the money on rebuilding the Narrows one, they decide to spend it on refurbishing the old one that's a little more isolated. I mean, they have to put the crazies somewhere, and they could think it would be quicker, cheaper and safer to go with the old asylum. It might work.

well, i'm glad that it's not such a horrible idea

On the contrary, in my opinion at least, it's neither a horrible or stupid idea. Unlikely that Nolan would do that though.

Yeah. I like it but I don't see Nolan goin' there. Especially when the Tim Burton movies the franchise has so far thoroughly distanced itself from went down the gothic path so famously...

As great an idea this would be, the "Reality" of the Nolan verse would nix this idea easily. The mere fact that the building is older than the newer facility, would make it an easier place to break out of. A newer high tech Asylum would be a better idea, imagine a story line in which there is a new asylum. Perhaps a criminal like the Riddler would be able to hack the security systems, and rig them with explosions (or something). This would lead Batman into defusing said bombs to save the criminals whithin. In solving the puzzles he would have to recruit help such as the Joker, to help solve these puzzles...just a pitch, feel free to steal it Hollywood.

I could see Nolan abandoning the current AA in favor of a newer facility on the outskirts of Gotham for the safety of the citizens. That would be quite interesting.

How about Batman owns his own AA that no one else other than gordan and him know about where the worst of the worst are taken. Ok i know thats pushing it but with batmans secrets and money he could do it.

Screw Nolan's stupid realism. The Akham Asylum of BB looked like just another flat building,it lacked all the qualities of the real one from the comics.I think that the one seen in the AA game looked fine,it would just need to be smaller, with less buildings

one idea i'm keen to see nolan keep is the idea of the entirety of the narrows becoming arkham asylum.

That's a compelling idea. After all the Narrows is a separate island off of Gotham and has been taken over by escaped crazies.
