The version 5.0 update for Arms will launch on December 21, Nintendo announced.




Currently, Nintendo has only announced that the update will add a new fighter.

Meet the genius director of ARMS Laboratories.

Nintendo has released the version 5.0 update for Arms, adding new playable fighter Dr. Coyle, new stage “[NAME REDACTED],” three new ARMS, and more.


Get the full patch notes below.

• New fighter “Dr. Coyle” is now available. Play the Grand Prix at LV6 or higher as someone other than Dr. Coyle and see what happens…
• New ARM “Lokjaw” added.
• New ARM “Parabola” added.
• New ARM “Brrchuk” added.
• New stage [NAME REDACTED] added.
• For Grand Prix LV6 and lower, the computer will now get stronger as you get deeper into the Grand Prix.
• For Grand Prix LV7, the computer will start out strong right from the first match, as usual.
• You can now view stats from previous Party Crash events in “Stats.”
• Added new badges related to Dr. Coyle.
• Fixed issue in online play where the healing area created by HP Juice would sometimes shift position.
• Adjusted abilities of some fighters and ARMS as follows.

Adds Party Crash mode "Big Time ARMS" to regular battles, more.

Nintendo has released the version 5.2 update for Arms, adding the Party Crash mode “Big Time ARMS” to regular battles, 15 new images to the gallery, and various fixes and adjustments.

• The Party Crash mode “Big Time ARMS” can now be selected in regular battle as well, so you can try something a little different. Feel free to use it as a handicap!
  • Prior to battle, when selecting ARMS, you can toggle this on and off with the Y button.
  • This feature can be used in Versus – Fight.
  • Can’t be used in online battles.
• Added 15 new images to Gallery.
• Fixed issue where fighters with super armor would not have their ARMS disabled by electric attacks during a rush attack.
• Fixed issue where a noise would repeatedly play if communication was lost while Dr. Coyle had her extra ARMS out.
• Adjusted abilities of some fighters and ARMS as follows.

  Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, the switch on Barqs head would stay pushed in.
  Dr. Coyle
  Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, extra ARMS would appear while firing ARMS.

  Fixed issue where self-destruct could occur during rush.

  Increased charge attack speed.
