Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5 - Part 1

Purely going by the reboot and casting rumors I am imagining that the movie will be a complete reboot set in our current time with a mature mid 20s Sarah Connor, the basic premise of the film will still be there but we will see more of the future war (Johns story line) that will run along parallel with the modern times ( young Sarah and Kyle)story line. Everyone will be really good looking and it will be no where near as bad ass as the original. JGL is The Terminator

Well, JGL ain't exactly a bad actor if you were implying that, but I don't think it'll be as bad as you're making it.

I thought TDW was great. Naturally, Taylor's involvement in this movie interests me even more now.

Yeesh, those are the only two choices? ****, bring back Yelchin.

Haha nope I agree JGL is a great actor. I am watching T2 right now and thought Robert Patrick and JGL look kind of similar and because it would be very unexpected that is all

I dont think it will be necessarily "Bad" but probably on par with the Evil Dead remake. To be honest I have not thought much of most action movies of late.

I too thought Robert Patrick and JGL looked very similar. Great minds think alike :cwink:

No to Hoult or Kitsch for Reese. I'd rather have Yelchin back.

Hell, since we're mentioning JGL, I'd rather have him as Reese too.

I don't see the appeal of basically just remaking The Terminator though.

Guy Pearce for Reese!

But if that rumour of Arnie playing a Terminator tasked with watching over Sarah Connor as she grows up is true (from the trades) then doesn't that mean he'll kinda be taking over Reese's role in the film? Will he just be a comrade to John in the future?

If Emilia Clarke is in the running for Sarah, Guy Pearce is way too old for Reese.

I don't think it will be a blow by blow reboot per se, I'm sure since they have the trilogy planned out this time (unlike before) they will have more to it. T1 and T2 are masterpieces to me, but I don't mind someone else trying to re-vive this great universe, for a modern audience. As long as they stay true to many of the core aspects, and try to add some more I'm fine with that.

Actually, I'd be interesting in seeing JGL play the villain. Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor would be awesome and I also want to see Yelchin back as Kyle Reese. Hoult and Kitsch are both good actors and I like them, but Yelchin did such a good job that I really want him back.

I was hoping somehow Laurie Holden would pop up as a Sarah Connor candidate until I saw they seem to be aiming younger for Sarah. I really wonder where they're gonna go with it, since it seems we'll be seeing young Sarah and Reese AND adult John Connor in one movie. I don't want to point immediately to time travel, since they could just show two timelines and stories going on at once.

Yeah i feel like there's a lot more to it then we know. I don't think it'll be a flat-out remake/reboot/re-re

Don't be such a cliche, StarLord. :o

I have no doubt that Kitsch will get roles in more big movies in the future but I doubt he gets a lead role in a big picture so soon after his disastrous 2012. And I'm not necessarily blaming him for those films failure but he was the face of them so he will get a lot of blame. Basically I'm saying I will be shocked if he lands a lead role in this reboot. I'm not even sure if I believe the Hoult/Kitsch rumor anyway.

Well technically Kitsch is not the worst actor that could be cast in the role of Reese but he just doesn't scream Kyle Reese to me and would much rather see someone else. I liked Anton quite a bit in the role, it's just too bad that the rest of the film wasn't as good.

Personally I don't really like any of the above named actors that the studio has interest in for the role of Kyle.

Is someone blackmailing people in Hollywood to keep putting Kitsch in movies?

I just don't see the appeal.

I will say, mediocre as the movie was, Anton Yelchin actually did okay in the role. Not that I'm suggesting they reuse him.

Kitsch problem isn't his acting talent, he's actually pretty good, it's that he's been unfortunate in his choice of roles recently.
