Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5 - Part 1

Out of those 2 I say they get Hoult.

I wish Hollywood reporter would get it through it's head that If it's a reboot you can't call
It terminator 5

Yeah they said it was a reboot so obviously it's not Terminator 5. I think Arnold being a part of the film creates a lot of unneeded confusion though. He's too old to play The Terminator and he's connected to the original franchise. That's like having Peter Weller play a big role in that awful looking Robocop reboot.

Maybe they are going the Star Trek different timelines route and maybe they are going to waste millions of dollars to make Arnold look like he did in 1991, I don't know.

Is this film seriously happening? I thought it was a total reboot that did not involve Reece or any of the original characters? Or does Reece go further back in time and meet with Grandpa Arnold in the 1940's? Thought I read that somewhere. It's a shame what's happened to this franchise.

Since when does a reboot not involve the original characters?

In some ways this Is coming off as remake of first film.Probally other 2 parts of planned
trilogy would be different than Terminator sequels.

It's a royaly bad idea for arnold to be In this film.Just like they should never have had Judi Dench In first 3 rebooted Bond films.

Arnold being in this film screams they feel they need something familar from previous films.

My thinking Is a far amount of first act of film could be in future If they are looking at Tom hardy as John Connor. You may even see John sending Kyle reece back In Time.

The past will likely be 2015.They obviously are going for younger Sarah.

Out of 2 mentioned for Reece.I think Hoult will get it it.He looks younger plus he has
been In more hit films-First Class, that zombee comedy, and likely DOFP.

Arnold 'being in' this film may not be what we think it is. Perhaps it will simply be flashbacks using scenes from the first 2 Terminator films, or else a CGi character for a brief cameo - like they did in Salvations.

I agree though that if they decide to drop current 66yr old Arnie into this film as a killer robot, it will be absolutely ridiculous.

I can almost guarantee you they won't ever use a cgi Arnold like they did in Salvations.

Um, they absolutely made the right decision bringing Judi Dench back. Without that, we'd have never gotten Skyfall, one of the best Bond films ever and the best performance by any M actor ever. They're bringing Arnold back because fans complained that he wasn't in the last movie and because he's the face of the franchise, simple as that.

It would be rather dull to see a shot by shot update of the Terminator, so I do hope they try something a little new.

What idiots made that complaint?

Did they not see Terminator 3?

The articles on Terminator Fans are making me really embarrassed to be a Terminator fan right now. Complete insanity.

I disagree on that.If your going to reboot you don't bring back actor from films you now say didn't happen.Plus we didn't get a real Love intrest In Skyfall since they wer for more intrested In giving dench a sendoff.

My attitude is same with this. You reboot then don't bring the face of films your now saying never happened. And this Is laregly remake of original film even
worse.

If you Critized sean Connery for doing thunderball remake with Never say never again It's same with arnold.

I am sure it won't be a shot by shot remake of first film.We know John Connor plays a role in this film and he wasn't In original film.

The way I imagine it will be roughly:

We'll have Sarah Connor for sure. John, if we see him at all, will either be in a future flashback/vision as an adult or as an infant at the end of the movie. We can't see him as anything but those two. Kyle's his father so he can't be born until at least nine months after Kyle shows up.

Kyle Reese will be back to save Sarah although I don't know if they intend to kill him off or keep him alive for a potential sequel. I can see both sides of his being kept alive as a good or bad thing. To die, he's a martyr and a symbol of what the Resistance needs as a sacrifice for the greater good. If he survives, he can help raise John to become the soldier and leader he is destined to be and fend off any further machines sent back to guarantee John's death.

My guess is he'll die for the greater good but there is a case that he lives.

Obviously we'll be getting a Terminator sent back but I'm doubtful it will be Arnold. It's far too much to CG him 20-30 years younger and unlikely they'll use an old man machine look. I can see how "he's an old man" can appear disarming, but an old man who has the muscle and look of Arnold Schwarzenegger? I can't buy that. Especially not when Kyle is supposed to fight him off. Imagine a man in his 20's fighting a guy in his 60's. Even knowing he's a cyborg it just doesn't play out too well visually.

That TerminatorFans website is pretty one sided and pigheaded if you ask me, they provide us with casting news but make fun of all the actors in the mix.

Not sure if a reboot is entirely necessary, but I'm interested in where they're going to go with this.

The worst thing about that scene was that 'talk to the hand' was already dated by the time the movie came out.
