Yeah, I hated Sam in this movie. There wasn't much to like in Terminator Abomination.

I really hope those two are not the only contenders left for Reese. Having seen Courtney performance in other films, he does not strike me as Reese at all - could be a good Terminator though. I had to look up Holbrook since he is unfamiliar to me. While he resembles Biehn better than Courtney, he does not seem to have the essence of Reese from the images I have seen.

I'm unimpressed with the casting of the film so far, so Reese's pick has to really wow me. It is going to be hard since Biehn was just perfect in the role and Reese is one of my favorite film characters ever.

I tried to rematch Terminator Salvation a few months back and I couldn't. I shut it off after 45 minutes.

Christian Bale and Sam Worthington were both awful.

The movie really is awful. It does have cool action and a nice performance by Anton Yelchin though.

I thought that Bale was underwhelming. However, I really liked Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin's performances. Moon Bloodgood was also good in her rather limited part. As for this movie, I really like the choices for John and Sarah Conner, but these choices for Reese seem rather questionable.

It's another reboot guys, will be very tough to re-capture the magic of the originals.

I'd settle for just new stories that can be just as good rather than trying to reboot everything that was a decent hit in the 80s or 90's.

The Terminator is one of my favourite movies so I'm going to have a hard time enjoying this one.

It's from the director of T:TDW, if it's as bad as that movie was it will be an easy decision for me.

Then again, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles was excellent.

In fairness Taylor made it clear he wasnt happy with how that film turned out. I dont think he will be working with Marvel as he mentions a few times they forced him to put certain stuff in.

Its why I am willing to give him a chance on the new Terminator, well that and his work on GoT.

The Terminator and Aliens are my two favourite movies ever (I can literally act the whole of T1 out on my own without missing a line I have watched it that many times), but, like the Robocop re-boot I am willing to give it a chance and hope it is good.

I still think it's a reboot along the lines of the JJ's Star Trek. Different continuity but not a hard reboot.

Yeah I think so too, I think the 1st 2 movies will be in canon and the rest will ignored. Only worry is Terminator Salvation tried this as well and failed miserably at it.

Though Taylor is a better director than McG.

TS wasn't a ST09 reboot. TS was more of a Superman Returns type of deal. And it got the same general response from me.

I'm hoping he is a better director than what T:TDW implies.

I like comic relief in Terminator, like when Arnold says "I need your clothes, your gun, and your motorcycle" at the start of T2, or when the T-1000 says "say, that's a nice bike". I like comic relief in scifi movies, but I like my comic relief limited, targeted, and good... rather than a component of every second scene that distracts from the narrative and isn't really funny.

The marvel fanboys might get on my case for this, but I don't think it's necessary for Kyle Reese to lose his underwear in the movie.

No I meant this one is going to be a JJ type reboot: Soft rather than hard.

He also has a less obnoxious name: "Alan".

True, with TS, despite how good the trailers were I always had a fear for the movie in the back of my mind because of him directing.

True, I personally like SR myself, I also liked TS originally, but on re-watch more and more flaws kept becoming obvious with it. I prefer T3 over TS personally.

T3 though had a number of issues, and I really think it's due to its director.

The story's fine though the TX felt contrived. Not because she's a woman, but more on her powers. It felt like they struggled to make her a threat despite the greatness of the almost invisible T-100.

Also the humor wasn't as clever as T2. AT all. Talk to the hand was already dated by 2003.

The T-800 and the T-1000 were so menacing that it was going to be really hard to top them. It would have taken a creatively brilliant person, and that's not what they found. Though I think even a brilliant person would have had a hard time topping those two.

Yeah, the T3 humor is my biggest issue with that movie. Cheesy as ****.

Yeah, and it's not the good kind of cheese either.

The humor borderlines farce. Also, Arnold's acting as the T-800 was a bit off. Maybe it was due to his age but I think it's just too much his own self-awareness to the role. Kinda like Depp with Jack Sparrow in the Pirates sequels.

Spot on.
