Arnold Schwarzenegger Returning For The Legend of Conan

Destroyer doesn't even need to be retconned. It was a bad flick, sure, but it didn't hurt the overall story, really.

But, although I want Milius' Conan story to be completed with this one, I do believe Momoa IS Conan. But Arnold has to be in this one, fo sho.

Yeah I didn't see too much in Destroyer that hurt the overall saga, it was pretty self contained story. Hell I didn't even hate it, I just find it to be massively downgraded from the original opera/epic into a standard 80s fantasy, fairy tale flick with absolutely none of the deeper themes that Milius used.

Agreed. Unless they were to try and do an adaptation of Hour Of The Dragon or A Witch Shall Be Born, or one of the stories where Thoth-Amon was the big bad. They've already misused The Heart Of Aramon, Queen Taramis, and Thoth-Amon, they can't exactly use them again.

But if they were to use the basic story of The Hour Of The Dragon and replace The Heart Of Aramon with something else (essentially the same magic gem described in the story, just with another name), then that should work.

But again, while Destroyer was a crap movie, it doesn't hurt Conan's overall story. It's just a minor adventure he had on his road to become King.

I'm really hoping that Conan is the next project Arnold gets underway it is a very important piece or Arnold's film history maybe even the most important I'm sure he will have the best people involved as possible.

Oh and I hope if they do bring Mamoa back in any way he'll put forth more effort into being Conan, his performance was lackluster at best.

Lackluster? I disagree. I even watched the Momoa Conan again this week. It's a constant rewatch for me.

I agree with the importance of Conan to Arnold's career and film legasy. As I've mentioned before, this was the project he SHOULD have done instead of T3: Rise Of The Machines. The ending of T2: Judgement Day was perfect, the story didn't need to be continued and could/should have ended right there. Conan on the other hand, ends with the hint that there would be another movie telling of him becoming king by his own hand, which we have yet to see (and I for one very much wish to see).

As for Mamoa's performance in his Conan movie? I wasn't so much upset my his portrayal of Conan, I think he did fine. It was more the lousy directing and fake ass special effects. Conan also should have looked more barbaric, not dressed like an ugly assed transvestite, and there should have been a LOT more sex (Arnold got laid three times in his Conan movie, Mamoa only got laid ONCE). Oh, and Mamoa's sword should have been made out of STEEL, not PLASTIC (I can tell the difference).

As for Chicken Scratch's suggestion that Arnold produce/direct Mamoa's next Conan movie? No. If Mamoa wasn't to be in Arnold's Conan movie, he can play the role of King Conan's son.

How old are you again?

See how that works out when he is raised by his grandfather after Corin died. Or telling him stories of the south that gave young Conan a case of wonderlust.

Wonderlust? Is that where he wonders what it would be like to bone a woman with less facial hair than he has?

Yes lackluster. I don't think the man is the worst actor in the world but I'd say only passable in dtv B action movies at best, not as an iconic character like Conan.

No, it's when you start thinking your a comedian.

:lmao:

I just find it hilarious when people don't know the difference between wonder and wander. Or your and you're. Or weather and whether. There, their, and they're. Seriously, I was taught that in, like, the third grade. Doesn't proper English get taught in schools anymore?

Typos happen, and you should also consider that not everyone on the internet speaks perfect English. The USA isn't the only country with internet access, you know.

Queens, NY isn't in the USA? Alright! Where's the atlas?!

Okay, here's a question I have. I remember reading in a Conan story a long time ago that Conan had a son. The story didn't mention the son's name (Conan was away from Aquilonia on some diplomatic mission and was away from home so long he was trying to remember the colour of his son's eyes). Actually, it was in one of Marvel's B&W Savage Sword Of Conan comics. Does anyone here actually remember the name of Conan's son? Had it ever been written anywhere? I ask, because since Arnold is going to be reprising the role of King Conan, and given the actor's advanced age, it seems a good idea to add the character's son to the story. They may even be able to pull off a spin-off series of films.

I was taught manners, respect, and civility at home before I even got to school......I see that you didn't learn it at either.
