Genisys does what Nintendon't will flop killing this. Hopefully they put Conan on HBo or Cinemax.
It won't happen.
Arnold looks so winded in the new Terminator trailers/spots. I can't see him swing a sword at his age.
I don't have a problem with the idea of a successor but as your references pointed out, they can't seem to get them right.I really hope that Conan does not team up with a junior side-kick/successor, as Indiana Jones and John McClane did. I hate that prefabricated plot line.
No one wants to see that Conan movie.I think thats sort of the point of the movie. Conan is past his prime, just as Arnold is. Thus when called back into action, he no longer is quite as capable with his sword as he was 30 years ago. He may have to rely more on his underlings to win the day.

I loved John Millius' King Conan script about Conan and his son, but I agree. I'd want this to be like Unforgiven of the Hyborian Age.
But at least he was revealed to be the punk he was, when compared to Clint and Morgan.
I think the movie needs a younger sidekick/successor. Can't picture Schwarzenegger believably hauling ass in a sword and sorcery role now and carrying the movie's action. Maybe a good turn in Genisys would convince me.
The Legend of Conan should be Arnold returning as Conan with his successor being his son with Conan's son becoming the next King but of course Conan's son would be a Prince and you team up father and son and have them paired up with another pair of sidekicks which also includes a love interest for Conan's son the Prince
