That's one of the parts of the show that annoys me. Why the heck don't they keep the make up on when he takes off his hood? Does he wipe off his make up every single time, he enters his hideout? Only to put it back on, when he goes out again?

Yeah, putting on that make up seems like extra work that could be avoided if he invested in a green mask. He is a billionaire afterall. Or he has magically appearing and disappearing make up, hood on make up appears, hood off, make up disappears. If so he could make a killing selling that.

Might be my favourite ep of the show so far!

Great directing, great cinematography (real mountainous location finally!), great lighting in the clocktower, great tracking shots, great VFX (explosions on the island), great action shots as usual.

Great story of the week villain, so many great plotlines going on (LoA, Canary, Deathstroke), finally called 'Arrow'.

---

I'm predicting that there's a Lazarus pit on the island btw; that's why it's so important. Those guys on the boat are the League of Assassins. Deathstroke will join them.

Ollie fired two arrows at the Dollmaker and pinned him to the pipes. He then said he was going to jail.

A third arrow then hit the Dollmaker and killed him, not fired by Ollie, and Canary said "no he isn't".

But Canary doesn't carry a bow or arrows? o.O

That wasn't an arrow. It was like a metal stake.

Ahh thanks! Fair enough! I thought it was an arrow.

Kinda a shame actually.. I would have been okay with this one surviving for a later episode.

It makes more sense to take him out. Keeping them around sometimes means they can come back and kill again. Just like the Dollmaker did when he escaped.

Amazing episode. In football terms we would call this a hat trick. Also, I loved, loved, LOVED the way Arrow landed after putting two in the Dollmaker, perfect landing. This show puts a lot of superhero shows to bloody shame.

Again the pacing is just nuts on this thing.

:awesome:

I also liked how the Canary swung down on that black ribbon like cirque du soleil. And flipped around the Clock tower. Apparently she's too cool for doors.

The action/fight scenes are really great on this show.

Good episode but it is a shame about this scene.. the Dollmaker gets shot and falls back in one direction. And Arrow jumps down from a direction where the shot could not have been made from. (Arrow should be jumping down from the front/left side of the screen not the right)

Another awesome episode where we see Green Arrow and Black Canary teaming up in Arrow escaping Dinah Laurel's trap and aiding him against the Dollmaker. I hope Canary joins Oliver's team.

We get to learn a little bit more about Canary through Roy when he meets the debuting Sin, Canary's friend.

I think this episode belongs to the Lance's with both Dinah Laurel and her father, Quentin. Both are at odds over Green Arrow, but in the end Dinah Laurel comes to her senses. The stuff with Arrow and Quentin is like Batman and Commissioner Gordon.

The flashbacks has some progression as Slade may end up wearing an eye patch. It looks like Oliver has gotten off the island, but against his own will where he's trapped in a cell aboard a ship.

I'm enjoying this season more than the last as a lot has moved forward.

IMO, the best Arrow episode yet. Dark, gritty, scary. It keeps on getting better. I didn't like episode 1 of season 2, but I love episodes 2 and 3.

This has happened before (arrows coming from one direction with Oliver being somewhere else).

This was another awesome episode indeed, but there were a lot of things that made me shake my head.
Cindy leads Roy to Canary's hideout. Why?
LoA guy went out like a wimp, and why was he using a voice changer?
Canary got hit with a steel rod in the head and doesn't get knocked out?
Why is Lance still wearing a badge saying "Detective Lance"? His way of saying FU to his superiors?
Why wasn't Oliver affected by the sonic weapon in the beginning?
Mathis gets an arrow in his back/shoulder but he pulls it out like it's a toothpick or something.

I really love this show but things like these make it seem as though they are getting lazy or something, I don't know. I also hope that what happened on the island is not enough reason for Slade to end his friendship with Oliver. I think there should be more stuff happening between them until that happens.

We don't know her reasons for leading Roy there, assuming that it wasn't merely accidental. Let's wait an see if they explain it.
So, he got beat, and he used a voice changer to hide his voice, simple as that.
It depends on how hard she gets hit and where. It's possible that it wouldn't knock her out.
Maybe, his superior is a giant *******.
Don't know.
Common trope in fiction, happens all the time.

But why use a voice changer while talking to someone who knows who you are and then remove your mask/voice changer? Seems like they just wanna make that guy similar to Oliver and Merlyn just cuz they can.

Maybe the suit has the voice changer built in?

I chalk it up too theatricality. Having a voice changer to make them even more intimidating than they already are. Plus, they wanted us for a short second to think that Malcom is alive.

Maybe the costume is a standard uniform for the LOA in this show's universe. Like the ninja costumes were in Nolan's movies.

Maybe he wasn't sure who would enter the building. Could've been Sin, or a police officer. When he saw it was a league member he revealed himself. But not before making us think he was Malcolm Merlyn.

Did anyone else catch the name of the ship? Guess we now know who the Island invaders are working for...

My guess is that they were working for Professor Ivo, as the ship was called "Amazo".
