Well aren't they? You said yourself they have no impact on the game play. I also don't see it as a reason to dissuade people from getting the original Xbox games they are releasing over Live.

It gets you to explore new parts of their game. Stop moaning, Tim. You know, just as everyone else does, that if you had a 360, you would be doing the same.

i dunno about that. if i want to achieve something, i'll achieve it. all the 360 achievements do is tell me that i've done what i want to do. i'm not gonna go out of my way to explore new territory if i don't want to just so MS can tell me that i've done something i don't want to do. i'm not saying achievements are stupid or anything because i have to admit that the achievements are kinda handy. sometimes i don't realize what i've achieved until those achievements pop up, but the achievements don't give me any extra drive to do things i normally wouldn't do on the PS3 version.

btw, i have a PS3 and a 360, but i bought Assassin's Creed for the 360 because i didn't have a PS3 at the time. those achievements haven't made me want to go back and do things i haven't done yet. if i ever wanna do those things then i'll do it because i wanna do it....not because the 360 achievements are extra incentives or anything.

Yes, they might be useless to you, but a lot of people like them (and they don't act ******ed about it, like those score-buyers).

I could understand if adding achievements changed the gameplay in a negative way, or if it prevented developers from adding the same content as in other platforms, but I seriously hate b1cthing for the sake of it, which is exactly what you guys are doing.

i was explaining to cookiva how achievements don't give me any extra incentive to do things i normally wouldn't do if i had the PS3 version and i even said the achievements come in handy from time to time because they let me know things i normally wouldn't have. please explain to me how you consider that b*tching for the sake of b*tching...

I just said I DON'T hate the achievements. I was just questioning why people would be forgoing buying the original Xbox games because they aren't putting achievements on them. You do know about Microsoft releasing some original Xbox games over Live right? Fable, Halo, etc.

I'm an achievement ****e big time. I almost started to look for all the flags in this game, but then I realized what a huge waste of time it would have been.

In all honesty, I wasn't even paying attention to your posts.
I should have used the quote thingie, but I was referring to Timstuff and Jerry's posts, since they were talking about it since last page.
Either way, it doesn't really matter. We won't really reach any middle ground because everyone has a huge stick up their asses and does nothing but b1tch (yes) about the other guy's console instead of enjoying his/her current ones, so whatever.

For all those who dont like achievements, tell me this. There are millions of gamers everywhere who want to finish a game 100%. Its just another thing to work on.

theres a flag in the game thats impossible for me to get.. its in the Temple ruin in the Kingdom, you have to climb up the temple ruin, then jump to a second one then try to jump the next one, and that one has a flag on it.. But everytime i try to jump to it, my jump is way to short or i fall to far away to the side, i tried at least 10 times and failed every time to get it, i have full health bar, and i even died twice because its such a high jump... anyone else have trouble with that flag??

nope not here... if you have the game, go to the ruins in the kingdom, all the other flags are simple to get, but there is one certain flag where you'd pull your hair out over!
