Assasins Creed

I haven't seen one bug or experienced one glitch and im half way through my second play-through. I guess they care about me more and made sure to get me a good copy.

The only glitch I had was that during one of my chases I hit a wall in an odd angle and fell through into the wild blue yonder beneath the game. After a few seconds I was back on the street.

so...i dunno if anyone's mentioned this yet but...

...if they're gonna do a sequel, they should probably include night time. all of the game (even the animus parts) takes place during the day, hehe.

Just killed the doctor today. I tried so hard to make it quite but I was like 2 feet away from him when suddenly a mental pushed me and the guy noticed me... me= :cmad:

Just finished the game. It made my penis go ""...

Lucy being an assassin was AMAZINGLY :wow:.

I love how Abstergo is being run by modern day Templars.
I could go on and on. Yes it got really repetitive in places, but they're some neat ideas in this gem of a game. Please let there be a sequel.

Also, the story would make a killer movie franchise.

That and more "real" stealth missions where you have to sneak in and out undetected.

Did anyone get the blade in the crowd acheivement?

Same exact thing happened with me...but you can usually just run slowly past them so they don't grab you like that...then just bland and stab him...

It's easiest on the first assassination. Make sure you do it in low profile though.

I got all the achievements except for the flags and templars. That is going to be a huge ***** trying to find them all.

finished the game last night. great game but it definitely had it's problems. the ending felt like deja vu but not in a good way. i felt like i had just watched the ending for Halo 2. very disappointed with the ending. still...the story has insured that Ubisoft will be getting another $60 from me when the sequel comes out.

Yeah... I mean it's cool and all that if you want to you can explore and read into all these symbols and everything. But the way it just stopped and cut to the credits was no good.
At the very least they could have had a small scene of Desmund reading the letter on the wall, maybe some flashes of another time or whatever, and then went to credits. Then you would have still been able to explore the lab post-credits but at least it would have had a more concrete ending.

I thought it was perfect. It was your typical mind**** scenario. Answer 2 questions and raise 40 more. It certainly wet my appetite for what's coming, and discussing the possibilities of what it all means is partially what I was so excited about.

I know, but you still could have had that confusing questionable scenario, and still have a satisfying ending. Having him go "Hmm who was in this room before me?" and then just ending, isn't good. Since the letter on the wall was the most important part of the scribbles, they should have just had a small scene of him reading it, maybe with the previous guy's voice reading it over. And then had him go "What is going on here?" and then cut to credits.

It was just unnecessarily abrupt. Having a small scene wouldn't change the meaning of anything and wouldn't answer any unanswered questions, but it would at least end on an ending note. You could still discuss what everything means and all the clues.

It's like the Matrix Reloaded. Let's not end on something exciting, lets go on for awhile with a boring slow scene and then cut it off randomly.

See, but I think even small glimpses into the former tenant might ruin some of the anticipation for the next game. I personally enjoy being left in the dark, but I guess I can see where it may have annoyed some people. Hell, I'm actually surprised they left us with that much.

It's just that from a purely storytelling standpoint, it was poorly done. It's fine to want to end it with a sense of confusion and mystery... But you can't just stop it and hope that works out. It is a game with a pretty strong story, and to expect everyone to ignore that there is no real final cut scene and to find their own information is a mistake.

Again, the story and ideas are all good and fine. But it feels like they didn't really know what to do in the end, so they were like "Let's just throw a bunch of clues on the walls and not do anything with it, let them figure it out." Which is fine for a Where's Waldo book, but not for a compelling story.

It's like if- The Usual Suspects ended abruptly with him walking out of the interrogation room. He leaves and credits... Then as you leave the theater you get an envelope full of all the pictures on the walls and all the stuff that was used in creating his fake story, and you have to put it together.

Sure all the clues are there and the idea on paper is great... But it wouldn't be good storytelling.

I disagree. I thought the way the game ended was fine. I mean the story clearly isnt done and we are left to ponder what will come next. Also, having us, as gamers, search around and hypothesize what will happen next will only build on our anticipation for the next installment. So the way the game ended now was perfectly fine IF they continue that story in the next installment.

Well, with The Usual Suspects you're talking about a single entry. We know there are going to be at least 2 more games. I see exactly what you mean, but we've basically been aware all along that this was meant to be at least a trilogy which I guess makes the act more exciting for me. I enjoy searching out the meanings to the clues. The game stuck in my head for hours and I searched to try and gain insights on what was to come. That was more exciting to me then having someone spell it out.

Yeah, I got the achievement on my first assassination aswell. I was just asking is all.

the problem i had with the ending is that i didn't know it was the ending. even though i knew i'd done the last assassination, i didn't know the story was going to end so suddenly and so anti-climatically. i love a good mind-f*** as much as the next guy, but that wasn't really a mind-f***. it was basically the video game equivalent of blue-balls when i saw the credits role because it didn't feel like an ending. the same way Halo 2's ending didn't feel like an ending. i realize that this is just part of the story and they plan on making more games, but you need some kind of closure before they give you the cliffhanger.

case in point...Fellowship of the Ring's ending. even though we knew Sam and Frodo had to continue their journey, the movie was done in such a way that you knew the movie was going to stop there. there was closure, but there was also a cliffhanger. with Assassin's Creed's ending you get nothing but cliffhanger, no closure.

i know some of you like the ending and that's fine, but i couldn't help but feel that the ending was half-assed and amateur. i know Assassin's Creed ain't your typical video game and they do things differently, but different doesn't have to be dull. i love the rest of the game, but i gotta say that the ending is BY FAR the weakest part of the game.

I agree. You can only love the ending if you take the time and look up what all the cryptic symbols really mean. Your average gamer isn't going to do that so I can see a lot of people getting confused.

The future for this series is limitless though. The modern day Templars and there manipulation of the world sounds amazing.

I loved how in one of the emails, they explained that the Templars were in fact behind the Philadelphia Experiment.

.

Buy the next game(s) in the series, im sure youll get your closure there.

But that is poor storytelling.. You have to close something, anything, before you open more stuff up.

It closed the mystery of what exactly the Piece of Eden was. I mean, this whole game was essentially about the Templar treasure right?
