Assasins Creed

I asked you what you thought the serious flaws are. Stop using other people's reviews as your proof.

If a game is getting 9s and 10s, then it should be one of the best released, period. That doesn't mean overlooking serious flaws, not small ones, because of one good element of the game.

If a game is getting 9s and 10s. That means people like it.

Jerry, you need to stop assuming that games can be compared across the board, which is what the scales are for in the first place. Trying to put a number to opinion.... something you shouldn't do because stuff like this happens, you get pissed cause someone likes it a lot.

The serious flaws are mentioned in the game play portion of that review. I agree with them as they are pretty much the same thing as I pointed out before in this thread. So just watch the review. Or not, I don't care.

Why is it so hard for you to just say it? I don't want to watch the Gametrailer's review, I asked for your all mighty opinion that is obviously better then anyone else's, including mine.

Tell me in simple english, what you thought was wrong with the game. And stop being so combative.

There's no store near me that rents video games.

The major complaint that people have about the game, is that it's repetitive.

What will happen is-
-You get told to go to one of the 3 cities to do an assassination
-Go to the Bureau in the city to get more info
-Climb high viewpoints to clear spots on the map and locate informers/pickpockets etc..
-You can either quickly do 3 of the Assassination related missions, either Pickpocket, Eavesdrop, Interrogate, or helping a fellow Assassin either pick up flags or take out a few people.
-Or you can get all the view points, do all the Assassination related missions, do all the Rescue Citizens, and earn more health/help from the city
-When you're ready you go back to the Bureau, and start the Assassination mission. Each one of the 9 is different scenerio and are all pretty fun. Your goal is to either take the target out stealthily or kill everyone including them.
-After you kill them, you escape back the the bureau and then go back to the Assassin's place in the mountains to get a new assignment.

Lather rinse repeat.

If you can get over doing the same missions over and over again, the rest of the game is superb. Which is why a lot of people, including myself, really like the game. People like Jerry! obviously don't.

So only Gametrailers can get it right?

Plant.

I'm partial to their reviews because it's always better to get a visual on what they are saying in the review instead of just imagining what it's like. I'm not saying they are the only ones that can get it right, just I think for this game they didn't pull any punches but at the same time gave credit where credit was due.

Watch the Gametrailers review then. That gives you an overall good idea of how the game is, and also gives you a good visual of how it plays and that helps, especially when they are explaining some of the game play.

Alright, I just watched it.

Now, Their only real complaint during the entire game-play section is the dumb AI. And if that is the reason you think this game is bad, than you're an idiot.

I have had, on several occasions, more than one enemy attacking at once, they don't always just stand around... And how many games actually have all the enemies attacking at once?

I would never list the enemy AI as a bad element in AC. Plenty of games have had much worse, the enemies are tough when they need to be, and easy to evade/trick when they need to be. Definitely not a 'game-breaker'

So are repetition and so-so AI your only complaints? I'm still waiting to hear yours.

There are plenty of games that came out this year that were better than AC, and those are the games that deserve 9s. AC is not one of the best games this gen, so it does not deserve a 9. If I were being generous, I'd give it an 8, but I can't overlook the problems enough to give it more than a 7. The game has a flawed structure, which is a much bigger deal than not having a certain feature or having a couple annoying bugs.

and the game was shipped out with plenty of annoying bugs. REALLY annoying ones

I played some more today, and I must say the following things:

a) Truly a beautiful game, made only for patient gamers with an appreciation for a classy game experience.

b) Not suitable for people with ADD and crappy taste in everything.

c) This game rules and it's awesome.
