The trailer was thoroughly mediocre and features cringe inducing pop music. Yay. Unless this film gets positive reviews I won't be wasting my time.
Final battle in Assassin's Creed II was in modern day too. This doesn't give that "Assassin's Creed" feel. There's so much modern day stuff. Looks like the final battle is in the modern day as well. All the shots from the past seem to me like they were taken from one or two sequences.
I'll take your word for it, as all I remember about the ending was some weirdness with the Pope(?) and the ancient alien beings. lol. Anyway that game was a multi-hour affair, with most of it set in the past. I'm just hoping that aspect (which is, imo, the most interesting part of AC) doesn't get overshadowed by too much modern day business.Final battle in Assassin's Creed II was in modern day too.
The trailer did absolutely nothing for me.
Both trailers are made for general audience which isnt acquainted with this property. Us, fans and players of the game, we know overall story what it is about. We just hope it's good movie. And too me it looks good, action looks good, acting and setting also.
Eh, remember that dialogue in trailers should not always been taken at face value. I'm not saying it's not *possible* that's how the line appears in the movie itself, but it's also possible that the line could be part of a splice and dice job (as is common with trailers) and him saying "Assassin's Creed" may not actually belong to the rest of the line.Wasn't that impressed. I think the movie is going to bomb.
Here is my issue. The live Animus thing is foolish to me. Why the well would Abstergo want to give him actual hidden blade gauntlets while he's hooked up to the animus? That Animus just looks ridiculous, and it looks like a way for dumb Abstergo people to get killed.
We don't get much of a feel for what's happening in the Inquisition Era. Also, why would Jeremy Irons' character say his lineage has been traced back to the Assassin's "Creed"?
Do the director and writers even know what creed means? Do they know what the CREED in Assassin's Creed actually means? I feel like if they did, such a stupid line wouldn't be in there.
They should've said, "His lineage traces all the way back to the Assassin Brotherhood."
I acknowledge that line could be the result of trailer editing. Then, it's still a dumb way to even shoehorn the line into the trailer.Eh, remember that dialogue in trailers should not always been taken at face value. Again, it's at least a possibility.
As for the trailer remaining vague on some of the details (of what's going on in the Inquisition Era, as you pointed out, for example)... personally, I'm fine with them being vague...there's enough that has me enticed. The rest and finer details I'm happy to find out when I watch the movie.
That's my take on it, at least.
