Animus V2 is in the movie! I thought I noticed it in the background and upon a second viewing of the trailer it's definitely there. Apologies if this is old news!

Nice catch! I didn't notice that before.

"Moon and Source Code were such good movies, I don't see how Warcraft could fail creatively." That was the mantra.

Macbeth and Assassin's Creed are not the same type of film. It's nice to not have a dumb Len Wiseman type of director but we have seen time and time again that does not guarantee success.

I personally thought Moon and Source Code were overrated as hell, so I wasn't too surprised that he made a sucky Warcraft movie.

The action looks good at least.

The action looks like it destroys anything I've seen in the last few years in mainstream blockbusters.

I'm more excited for this than any other movie right now.

Weird. That's Rebecca's version of the Animus. Could it just be an easter egg? I hope not

Does does that mean Fassbender's character is using Animus v3?

I'm not sure how the action we've seen does any of that.

FOX confuses me sometimes go watch the logan trailer thats how you use a song in a trailer that fits the tone of the movie perfectly but then they put kanye and now some random pop/rock song to a film set in the Spanish inquisition

Maybe Fox outsources marketing

The trailer would be so much better with this music.

I wouldn't go that far, for instance the action in Fury Road was exceptional, but the action here does look good and worth seeing the movie on the big screen.

We clearly watched different trailers. Or different mainstream blockbusters.

Movies aren't videogames so who gives a crap about the video game trailers? There is a way to use popular songs in film trailers and the Assassin's Creed trailers just aren't doing it right. Period.

This really is Warcraft all over again. That film had horrible trailers and the uber fans of the video games just couldn't see that and kept droning on about what the video games did, kept ignoring that video games and films are two completely different mediums.

because...its a movie...based on that videogame...and its produced by that same company that makes the game...?

And if that is all it took to make a blockbuster smash hit film, we'd have plenty based on videogames.

I think it's pretty evident after 25 years of dud after dud, and after a further two examples this year in Warcraft and now the AC trailers, that films are never going to feel like the video games they are adapting. Even Mortal Kombat as the default 'best' video game adaptation doesn't really feel like the game.

I liked Street Fighter, but it was like they picked up a script for an adaptation of Sunbow's GI Joe series and just changed the names of the characters.

I liked the first Silent Hill just fine. But the sequel, and some of the performances in it, set back acting by decades.

The two Mortal Kombat movies are watchable. The first one does feel a bit like the game and I still mark out for the pandering, and the sequel is so bad it is kind of enjoyable.

Tron isn't a direct adaptation of a video game, but both Tron movies "got it" imo. Also Hardcore Henry.
