i did search for a thread, couldnt seem to find one. but im sure a thread has been created for the title. oh well.

anyways so far whedon's run has been excellent the only readable X title out there. the one thing that really irks me tho, is whedon's fascination with buffy the vampire archetypes. he's doing a great job handling kitty, but jeez give the theme a rest. i read astonishing 15 and it was a great issue. I dont like the suscpision that emma might become a villain again, i like her the way she is an antagonists. who do you gtuys think perfection is(the mysterious cloaked dude/chick)? btw, how the hell did that robot chick come back, i thought she was destroyed?

i agree....but it seems like she is gonna save the day again....

No offense but I would rather fillet my penis than go into an individual franchise's comic forum on these boards

exactly, man. theres no way im traveling in there. anways come on guys contribute to the thread.

astonishing x men is my first introduction the the emmafrost character like i said, ive never read an x men comic in the 90's. i know stuff from the cartoon and i hva ea few old trades here and there from the 80's. but i was really liking her character alot. gives a nice friction on the team, i would hate for her to go all villain again.

i still cant belive cassandra nova is suppose to be a woman, damn.

The title is simple AWESOMENESS. The writing, the art, and especially sine the brining back of Colossus. Whedon really has a grasp on the all the characters, I like his Wolverine. Finding out the Emma Frost was playing tricks with his mind then ending it my saying to her "You *****." Simply pricelss. :D:up:

Emma Frost has been around since the early 80's.

As for Danger...didn't she and the Sentinal fly off at the end of the last arc? I don't remember...

um, what's wrong with the "individual franchise's comic forum" on these boards? i go to them and they're just fine.

am i the only one who thinks that rasputin is an idiot? that issue said it all!

I think this issue was one of the strongest of the entire series, and that's saying something big. It had badass moments, "oh ****" moments and hilarious moments. It had great art. It had pretty much everything.

Stop hating Cleric, you sound like a Superman/Batman fan and I seriously don't like them. Astonishing Xmen is the best book out there. Yes I said it and what

Its a great comic, easily the best of the X-Titles I thought Whedon took a stumble with the first couple of issues, like ok we get it Scott has psychological problems, hes ****ed up, whoopee -doo. Last issue was great though. Looks like Kitty will save the day, I wonder which X-Men will destroy the Breakworld though.

That's quite the overstatement but whatever.

I read the first trade and followed Dangerous with the monthlies.I really wasn't grabbed by anything special or blown away at all.So many people were hyping it up bigtime as so great.I found General Ord and this Breakworld to be quite boring.Sure this would make a great X-Men primer for someone new,but personally I was left feeling flat.

Best book out there? Not in my opinion.

Actually, I think this book is a lot easier to follow for those who actually know about the X-Men since a lot of the history is showcased here.

I found the story kind of easy to get into without reading the x-comics for a long ass time.

But I agree that it really helps knowing Emma's history, that Jean is "dead",and that Colossus was dead too.

Yeah and also the small references too, like when Kitty arrives at the Mansion and remembers Professor Xavier Youre a Jerk moment, I lauhged because I remembered that.

I personally don't like the book. Its too late, in my opinion its NOT that great.

Yes, it is the best written X-men book, without a doubt. Problem, the other X-books are ****ing terrible, so it just looks better by comparrison.

Its average in my opinion, and Danger was even more lackluster. All in all, I'm not impressed by the book. Its Kitty and her Fantastic X-friends.

I wanna see that? I'll watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

i stopped reading x-men after zero tolerance and this bought me back in.

i even gave the first trade as a present to some friends who never read comics but just like joss. they love it.

he does a great job with all the x-men and the art is the cleanest if seen in years.

and how about some love for the way joss wrote nick fury. give that man a series.

AXM is easily one of Marvel's top 5 books, you can even throw limited things like Civil War/Frontline in and Marvel is still a top 5 book

Dangerous wasn't as good as Gifted or this current arc but it's still better than most the stuff on the stands:o

Seriously, maybe you need to go back and read Gifted, the dialogue is so on, it's crazy.

Gifted was great, I found Dangerous very average, its been done before and a lot better. This arc is rolling on all cylinders now, after that pretty bland Scott has problems issue.

also, the last page from this current issue. That was awesome.

I liked that ish, I haven't read that much X-Men though so I haven't gone through the whole Scott is a big tortured ***** thing before. I actually really dug that stuff with him pussying out as a kid. What a *****.:)
