at what age should you grow up?

I think as soon as the umbilical cord is cut, the doc should slap a suit and tie on you and toss you in a cubicle.

I am 22, have a part time job, go to school, and still sucking off the teet of my parents for support. So, I am still not grown up I guess...they give me until I get out of college so 1 more sad year.

I guess until you have a career or a child. Im not sure.

I think it varies for everyone. As for myself, I'll be 27 on the 15th, and my sister and I (she's 23) are still at home. I contribute to the expenses, and she has big plans to go to Seattle (she loves rain...'nuff said). Me, I'm a Photoshop junkie, having gone to 2 semesters of college, 4 years ago. I know I want to marry before I'm 30, but first I have to get out of the house. I lived on my own once, for about a year, and to be honest the idea of doing it again is not something I'm very excited about at all. I want to launch a career in printed graphic design, but as of yet I just don't know where to start...

true dat.

as soon as your 18 you can look forward to spending the next 40 years working.

I know guys right now that are 30-something still acting like they did in school. Basically get drunk every night, trolling the night scene. They claim it's the best because they never have to worry about dealing with stuff, but at some point that gets old, no matter how much of a party animal you claim to be.

This is true.

There is nothing more cliché than an aging hipster in their 30's or 40's.

Oh its LV birthday soon !

Well I'm 19 and I don't look 19 I do not look my age at all I look younger but doesn't bother me at all.
I act like a 19 year old then sometimes I'm silly and act not my age, most people will act their age then be silly and all

LV be yourself not a number!

best quote i ever heard on this subject

grow old but never grow up

I dont think it's 44.maybe it's 45 i'll let you know next April

LOL, You're already grown up if we use current standards for adulthood as any indication.

My view on it has been that puberty determines it more than anything else...

Social/cultural stuff is anybody's guess. It depends on what's viewed as being grown up in your environment...

meh people age differently.

I know 30 year olds, or older that look younger (maybe not act younger though) than a lot of 21-24 year old buds

growing up? and by your definition what counts as grown up

I think as soon as you get married, graduate college, graduate high school if you won't pursue further education, or have a kid should be the exact moment you grow up and become self sufficient.

Just because you grow older doesn't mean you have to grow up...well you do but you don't.

You don't have to stop likeing anything you like now just because you are older. You do have to mature a bit for stuff like work and bills. But you never have to lose the kid inside of you. I collected Batman toys until I was 30, but once i got married I stopped, but now that my son is 5 and loves Batman too, we can collect them together. I am always a big kid when it comes to my son. I am teaching him how to play or PS2 and he is quite good at a few games and can kick my butt at them.

So don't worry about growing up. You will mature, become responsible and work you ass off at a job for the next 30-40 years. But you still don't have to change who you are. That is why I said men really never grow up. We are in a sense just Big Kids.
