Sci-Fi Avatar: The Way Of Water

"Jim's said that in interviews that Alita is the perfect environment for us (Weta) to start working on technology for Avatar. Everyone knows we're working on Avatar now and everyone knows that's where our technology's going.” Currently Avatar 2, Avatar 3 and parts of Avatar 4 have completed 'principal capture', with live-action filming set to take place in New Zealand for about four months, starting in May. Unlike Alita, Cameron has said that the live action is a relatively small part of the new Avatar films, telling the NZ Herald last month, "there are several live action characters that go through a lot of the CG scenes so it's about integrating the live characters into the CG scenes. Kind of the opposite to Alita where we had a few CG characters mostly integrated into live action settings.” He also added that in the new Avatar films, "I've got a couple of human characters integrated into the Na'vi rainforest, oceans, mountains, that sort of thing. We'll shoot that 3D, so everything is going to look spectacular. That sets the bar for the CG guys at Weta.”

Not really. Hollywood invested a lot of money into it and after the hype wore off and disappointment set in they kept trying to keep it going to offset the costs of that failed project.

Yeah, I'm still wondering if Avatar 2 will create a resurgence of 3D. If this sequel is set in the ocean, I imagine the 3D will be absolutely insane. Gotta have a big chase scene involving a giant creature.

People shouldn't have gotten pressed over his comments to begin with.

People get presssed over every little thing that we don’t even know what truly needs rage and what doesn’t anymore.

So the James Cameron character...

Makes me wonder if the story will be about humans harming and exploiting Pandora's oceans. In the real world human damage to reefs and the oceans is a well documented problem and I could see Cameron using that for inspiration.

I think at this point the N'avi would just kill any humans who showed up.

They just let the rest of them leave at the end of the last one thst surrendered. They know they're not all bad but they're still wary probably.

Yeah, I kinda have zero idea what a post-Avatar 1 Pandora would be, pretty curious to see what all the dynamics are like. Humans coming back in force wanting to just take it all the hard way, or what? Kinda seemed like Lang's group was more private paramilitary than representing any government, more just company goons.

He's in Avatar 2's set. I don't think that confirms he's in the film.

Vin could be a cameo or something. you never know.

Fast 9 to be shot entirely underwater!

Eat that Hobbs & Shaw!
