RE1 is a fun movie. One of the best based on games.

They’re all pretty awful. Maybe the first is enjoyable on a so bad it’s good level.

Then again, it’s kind of a ripoff on Cameron’s Aliens so I can see why he likes it.

I think it builds suspense very well. Action is great. Soundtrack by Manson is amazing. And young Milla, of course. Being similar to Aliens (and the original Resident Evil) probably helps too.

Sequels, on the other hand, are ugh...

I respect that. The man can appreciate it on it's own terms or get simple enjoyment out of it. I like how he likes AvP as well.
