Don't underestimate The Cameron.
Not even a little chance Avatar 2 beats Endgame, imo
Too long since the first one, which hasn't held up that well, and the 3D novelty is gone...nobody cares
The re-release could do it, I just hope Disney gives preference to the movie they actually produced and doesn't do a re-release
Cameron can deliver the box office. I just want more mythology and world building as well as more connection with the characters
I was thinking Avatar 2 is out next December...
Still another 2 years.![]()

Good. I want something like that. Could always do with more modern mythology type stuff. It's like cat nip. He's basically doing his own Star Wars/LOTR if he's to be believed.
Avatar literally has no actual fanbase and geeks are dying to obsess over anything. Even horrible B movies virtually no one saw. I'm just sayin'
Looks like we will be getting some very exotic locations. This is going to be a great looking film for sure.
Ah yeah, you missed out - this one definitely had to be seen on a big screen in 3D. And you’re about 10,000th, not first to say that lol. This was a cinematic experience and what should have been an important change in technology for the future of cinema. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way because everyone else turned in very half assed attempts at 3D and killed many people’s interest in it altogether. The story is serviceable rather than good or great.I'll be the first one to say that I never found the story to Avatar to be anything special. I saw it on DVD at home, and never in the theater...which everyone tells me probably killed the movie for me. That being said, as mediocre as I found the plot...the movie was BEAUTIFUL. I expect nothing less from this one...when I see it...on Blu-ray...at home.![]()
Anyone else blown away that they haven't done a 4k HDR conversion of Avatar yet? If any movie can serve as a demo for HDR, it's friggin Avatar.
I actually don't know Cameron's stance on HDR. I think only Terminator 2 was released with it. But that transfer is underwhelming to say the least.Anyone else blown away that they haven't done a 4k HDR conversion of Avatar yet? If any movie can serve as a demo for HDR, it's friggin Avatar.
