Age of Ultron Avengers 2: Rotten Tomato Watch (No Spoilers l Spoiler Free Zone) - Part 1

Yeah I don't expect the flaws in this one to impact the fun or rewatchability the way TDKR's flaws did. And of course there are flaws and there are "flaws".

Seeing it in 8 hours.

Yea The Dark Knight Rises quickly went down in quality for me. When I saw it the first time in theaters I left underwhelmed. Then I saw it again in theaters and was even more underwhelmed and bored. Then I bought it on blu ray and was just so bored with it that was kind of a chore to watch. Not say its HORRIBLE just very underwhelming compared to the other two Nolan Bat films. I don't see Avengers Age Of Ultron dropping like that for me!

Pretty much. I'll have to see AoU at least twice before I can make any declarative statements though.

And I thought anything below an 80 wasn't a "good" score :woot:

:woot:

I love it man. It honestly might be my favorite installment in the MCU so far, but I'll have to see it again to make sure.

That's awesome! Very excited to see it tonight!

Well it seems pretty obvious now that there's next to zero chance of this ending up rotten on the RT score so that's 11 films and 3 TV shows in a row to all get critical approval. Pretty impressive track record, I'd say. How many still think Ant-Man is gonna be the odd duck that'll buck this trend? :hehe:

I'm 75% on board with you, but there's still a tiny (no pun intended) part of me that thinks there's a chance it'll end up rotten. That's the eternal pessimist in me.

I'm really excited about Ant Man. I think it looks great from what we've seen. My only complain so far is that Hank isn't Ant Man.

Even as someone who isn't the biggest fan of the MCU, I wouldn't consider any of the films or shows "rotten". I'm pleased to see most critics and audiences alike agree on RT.

The Dark World might as well be Imo. Then again, its my fault partly for getting my hopes up so high.

Ant Man, Spider-man and Doctor Strange are the movies I am most anticipating in the MCU, not really of the Civil War, Infinity war brigade

Same. Earth's Mightiest Hero's really got me into Ant Man, and Spidey is my favorite CMB character .

To each his own, then, I guess. Even if you hated the first two Thor films, that's no reason to be so pessimistic about Ragnarok. You really can't use the previous movies in a franchise to judge the quality of future installments. Who would have thought that the X-Men series would have gone from the brilliance of X2 to the utterly awful "Last Stand" and "Origins"? Similarly, I'm not sure how many people expected Cap to go from the mediocrity of " The First Avenger" to the incredible "Winter Soldier". Just because the Thor franchise is currently hated on by a lot of people doesn't mean it will stay that way. If Civil War isn't as universally accepted as Winter Soldier, and if Ragnarok is amazing, then Cap could become the maligned franchise instead.

I think we should all be very excited about Ragnarok. I don't think Feige would have lied about it being the most important film in Phase 3. By the way, the film will be about Ragnarok, the end of the world. Of course it's going to be extremely dark. My only concern is that they shouldn't make it too dark (unlike, say, Man of Steel).

I thought Thor 1 was a fine movie, I enjoyed it a lot more than TFA and TIH, the action sucked though

I think Feige considers Ragnarok to be an important film because it sets up Thanos for the Infinity war movies

I usually seem to be agreeing with the majority opinion when it comes to movies (and it seems to me that Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Thor TDW get the most flack) and in the case of MCU I agree on that Iron Man 2 is pretty weak.
However, I liked TDW more than the first Thor and I think Iron Man 3 is just as good as Iron Man 1. Never bothered to post my opinion on these two when those movies came out though because the backlash was crazy.

Though I enjoyed Thor1 and (parts of) TDW, I do think the world is still waiting for a top shelf Thor movie. So I'm really hoping Ragnarok cements Odinson's place among his bros in arms.

But really I can't wait to see how the new crop of solos come out. I can't emphasise enough how important it is that Strange and BP make solid debuts.

IM3 was the s**t
most people who hate on it are probably still just ******** about the twist

My biggest "issue" with IM3 was the banter. 90% of the movie felt like improv that all fell flat.

IM2 gets unnecessary flak. IM3 was fantastic, and I found the twist refreshing. I think the movie would've worked had they carried on with Trevor's Mandarin persona, but that would've been sort of generic.

Thor TDW was the lemon of the MCU Phase 2 for me. I didn't feel the risk. Strong performances saved that movie, especially Hemsworth. I actually prefer Loki in Thor and TA than in TDW. I have faith Marvel will get Ragnarok right.

Initially, I didn't care for IM3, but I have definitely come to love it. I think its hilarious, and I don't even mind the twist now. Thor 1 was okay, but Thor 2 just bothered me. It was so underwhelming. Its a dull/okay movie, but as a fan of Thor, he deserves better.

Not going to lie, I quite enjoy Iron Man 2 as well.

Thor 2 seemed it was more of a "we need to write a movie that introduces another Infinity Stone" then it was writing a Thor movie and working an Infinity Stone into it.

GOTG was a good example of writing a movie and working an Infinity Stone into them.

Although i'll say I didn't hate Thor 2 just thought it could have been a bit better.

How to fix the Thor movies:
Step one- Get rid of humans
Step two- Take place in Asgard or other realms
Step three- Actually use the villain
