Age of Ultron Avengers 2: Rotten Tomato Watch (No Spoilers l Spoiler Free Zone) - Part 1

It's not comic book fatigue. I blame Whedon he messed this flick up. Civil War will make people forget about AoU hopefully

Idk if its worth forgetting over a few mess ups in it, there's definitely something worth remembering about it. Rather it be the characters it introduces, or plot points. Maybe comic book fatigue wasn't the best phrase to use there, but I have seen critic responses that say one of the main issues is that it feels to much like comic book. I've yet to see the film, but I already applaud Whedon. Hes made a film that introduces three other hero's while setting up for the next phase. This film, just because not as critically acclaimed as the the first, does not make it by any means a mess up.

I think the film just lost it's way near the half way point. I really think Marvel shouldn't let the director write and direct. There should be a separation of church and state.

But in a few years as part of a marathon viewing with the first Avengers and IW I think it'll hold up better for me personally. I just probably expected the greatest comic book movie ever when I first watched it.

Expecting the greatest ever is setting oneself up for disappointment.

How did Joss mess AOU up? In what ways? Because its not a copy of A1? People need to explain themselves more than just making vague statements.

Nope, AOU is not mess up. Don't listen to the haters.

Its not the best Marvel film. But definitely not bad at all.

I just rank it below 2014 MCU movies.

Ehhh Ill have to see it before I can retort on those. From what Ive seen Ultron is awesome.
He looks awesome in trailers, that's about it

He became the biggest disappointment in the movie and imo,is one of the weakest CBM villains (in many possible ways)

Maybe it's just me expecting too much from MCU finally making a good villain

James Spader delivered his job but unfortunately the writer and director didnt

I learned this lesson with Spider-Man 3. With Avengers: Age of Ultron I am expecting a good movie. Not a great one, but at least something that is better than The Avengers.

I'm an X-Men fan so what? I've seen every MCU movie in theaters multiple times. I saw GotG last month in theaters just to see it on the big screen again.

I didn't really like AoU but I'm heavily anticipating the entire phase 3.

Because people remember your post history. If you don't like the film great. Sorry you were disappointed.

Im gonna review the movie for my website so Ill let you know what I thought about Ultron and the film itself.

I saw the movie today, it looks bigger in scope, in ambition than the first Avengers movie but does not offer the same level of fun, it suffers from weak story (IMO.)

For me, the best part was performance given by Mark Ruffalo, followed by RDJ (can't believe that he has not been given a solo movie yet) but then Marvel probably don't know what to do with a character like Hulk. Overall my score-7.5/10. (and that's me being generous.)

This movie is not better than GOTG,not even close

No, I don't think that GOTG deserves all the praise it gets, I find the first Iron Man, Cap America TWS and First Avengers lot better than GOTG, hell, ..Thor is better than GOTG.

I'm hoping its better than TA. Maybe not quite as good as TWS or GoTG but if its not as fun as the first film I'll be disappointed. I'll know in 2 days.

Depends on your idea of fun, if it's bigger action sequences, quips, jokes, fan nods and hints to future Marvel movies... then it's all fun.

I'm really not sure what my expectations are. I am in the position of thinking that the original is like a 7 out of 10 film, fun and decent but massively overrated in pretty much every way. I mean how am I suppose to take reviews from people who thought the first one was the greatest film ever? I don't know.

If Age of Ultron is worse than the original I'm going to have a pretty shoulder shrugging time at the cinema. Well we will see, I'm giving it a shot like I do every film.

Sounds good except the quips. That's something that's always annoyed me about Joss, his need for every character to be witty all the time. I hope he tones it down a bit but it sounds like he went overboard with the dialogue again from what I've read.

So do think AOU is better than GOTG?

GOTG is most certainly one of the best MCU films. I don't think it's debatebale. I don't think it's the best, but certainly top 4 or 5 at least.

I'm so disappointed with this movie. After seeing it and seeing the critic reaction. It was a very mediocre movie. The trailers made it seem like it was going to be just as good if not better than the first. I was so looking forward to seeing this. I should have tempered my expectations to not be so high. Jos Whedon messed this up. I am glad we have Civil War to look forward to in a year which is a Quasi-Avengers movie without Thor. Russo's have a lot to accomplish, but I think they can do it. No more Whedon please.

It says 74% for me.

Wow this might actually drops to the 60s.

Can it stay above 70? ;)

I did not expect it to drop this much, especially in just a few hours. I sorta had hope it'd possibly go back up to 80.

Down to 74% now. Looking like the goal at this point would be stay in the 70s.
