Sequels Avengers Sequel ideas?

Who can say?

Why the hell does Bendis keep trying to promote Bug in the GOTG? If *Groot* was on this cover, you're probably looking at the actual movie poster for TA2. But Bug? psssshhhh :whatever:

I really hope that Avengers 2 takes them to another planet/realm.

I'm writing an Avengers 2 fanfic and am completely at a loss as to have either Thanos or Ultron as the villain. GGGGAAAAHHHH!

I advise Ultron, Thanos should left for the 3rd film, but still, without the release of Ant-Man you can't know for shure if he will play a role

But Thanos is sooooo much more cooler. Plus I'd rather watch a more cosmic Avengers movie than a completely Earth-based one.

Then I just get pissed off again because I think about all the positives of having Ultron. RRRRRRAAAAGGGGGGEEEEE. I wonder if this is the exact same thing going through Whedon's head right now.

You are tearing me apart, Lisa!

lol. I tried having both Thanos and Ultron, but that got so convoluted I forgot half the plot so I'm sticking with Thanos for now. I'm gonna post my ideas here and I hope you'll all love them. :)

I really think everyone who is praying for Ultron is up for a disappointment. All signs are pointing to Thanos in Avengers 2. Your opinion about whether or not they should "save" him for 3 is irrelevant to what actually will happen.

Just like the Pyms being in Avengers 1, and Avengers 2 being held back until 2016 to allow for a Black Panther or Doctor Strange solo film, an Avengers 2 with Ultron is not going to happen.

To the best of my knowledge, Kevin Feige hasn't mentioned Ultron once. He's mentioned expanding into space, and he's also mentioned being a huge fan of The Marvel Civil War, but has not once mentioned Ultron.

Our likely trilogy is:

1. Loki + Chitauri
2. Thanos + Infinity Gauntlet
3. Civil War

(And please don't get technical about Civil War being about secret identities; they can find something else to fight over.)

"all signs"? Theres just one sign, the mid credits scene, and that doesnt mean he will be the main villain in TA2. And there is minimal evidence that the Infinity Gauntlet will be involved at all. Since Whedon hasnt finished writing the script yet, any Easter eggs or offhand remarks by Feige et al don't mean squat, anything that doesnt conflict with the continuity established in TA is still possible. Thanos and/or Ultron are far from the only options.

Frankly, I hope Joss goes with door number 3. None of the above. He's boxed in enough as it is. Im willing to give him broad latitute when it comes to the villain and the story. Thanos can wait, and Ultron isnt necessary at all.

Yeah, remember when you first heard the bad guy in the X-Men sequel was that one guy from that one arc that you had never read?

I'm game for whatever Joss has up his sleeves. The #1 thing I still want to see in either this or Avengers 3 is Ms Marvel (or Captain Marvel or Warbird or whatever)

Who would you like to see in #2? I obviously want Kang in #2 or #3, but given that Marvel has really **** on the character in the last 10 years, and completely deemphasized him, I really doubt we'll see him on film.

I know it's an unpopular idea among some posters here, but I really would like to see a MoE build-up for one of these phases, even if it's not Phase Two. HYDRA (perhaps led by Zemo) or The Leader would be a couple of entities already in the MCU that I could see having the foresight/organizational skills/interest to put a team of supervillains together to match the Avengers. It would also be fun to watch that team-up coming together during the solo movies of that phase, much like how Phase One was fun to watch.

Also, the Kree/Skrull War coming to Earth would fit in well with Thor's statement, "Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war." It would be pretty exciting to see Marvel Studios adapt Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel, Ronan the Accuser, Gladiator, the Supreme Intelligence, etc. into the MCU

I guess these ideas are maybe further down the line, but they're still things I'd be stoked to see.

1. Antman isn't in the movie as of yet.
2. Ultron hasn't been created by Antman.

^This...

^ and this.

I concur.

After thinking about it, I'm certain the 'universal conflict' mentioned in the GOTG logline is the Kree - Skrulls war, and they bring it to Earth in Avengers 2.

The Kree Skrull conflict is a lot to introduce in an already crowded GotG movie

I think it can be done. That can be the central plot arc of the movie. Am I the only one that wants Ms. Marvel in it? As the pilot?

You're not the only one (because I'd also love to see that), but I don't know how likely it is--I don't know if they would make Carol Danvers the protagonist of a GOTG movie. It'd be awesome and I'd be psyched for it, but it sounds improbable.

It's much more likley the pilot is Star Lord... Plus Ms.Marvel would be wasted in an already crowded film.

Now, if she had a cameo as an associate of Quill's in the Air Force/SWORD... that sounds much more likely and I'd be totally down for that. It's still unlikely though. The most likely thing I could see happening is someone in the Air Force mentioning "Danvers" at some point.

How about, and this is total fanwank speculation, you have Quill and Carol be partners/wingmen in the air force/nasa/sword/whatever, and both get transported into space. And Carol stays behind on the ship or at the base while the actual Guardians (the 5 from the design art) go out and about and try to to stop the war; the eyes and ears of the team. Sort of a combo of the roles Cosmo and Mantis had in the comic, minus the telepathy. And towards the end of the movie Carol gets her powers and has to travel back to Earth, to warn of the coming of Thanos, while the other 5 decide to stay together, to guard the galaxy.

Just spitballing, off the top of my head :)

About Ultron, I assume they'd play it close to the chest IF they did use him. While I was pretty skeptical too, it would be one of many conflicts I could get on board with.

I think Carol is a safe bet. They're gonna need another strong female lead eventually. Or, rather a strong female "lead."
