This is probably my 2nd favorite trilogy behind Indiana Jones.
I recently watch them all last week on HBO, and they were such great films. Now I ask one thing:

Which was your favorite?

The first. It happens to be my favorite film of all time, actually.

I loved the first 2. But 3 was a huge let-down. But it's still one of my favorite trilogies of all time. I was just watching the first two last week, rarely bother with the last.

It really is hard choosing between the first two.

I think BTTF 2 is one of, if not the, best sequal ever made.

My sister and I are actually divided on this. I love the first film, while she prefers Part II. I do wish Zemeckis wasn't against extended cuts, though; seeing the deleted scenes polished and reincorporated would've been rather interesting, especially the longer "Darth Vader from Vulcan" scene.:D

The first is my favorite but 2 is very close behind. 3 was kinda unimpressive but still pretty likeable.

I like the first the most.

2 and 3 I like equally.

RIP BTTF THE RIDE

Obviously the first is the best. But am I the only one who liked 3 over 2?

Love 1 & 2 but 3 was okay. If they were going to go wild west. they should of went out with a huge bang.

Back TRo The Future 1 is my favorite followed by Back To The Future 2 and then 3...

A-MAZ-ING Trilogy, and will forever be in my heart...

I think this is my favorite trilogy of all time, maybe.....

yeah the third one was underwhelming....especially the ending- that kind of stretched the logic a bit too far. I mean Doc Brown made a time machine back in the Wild West?!!!!

No to BTTF 4 by the way... it MUST not happen.

1 is cool, 2 was much better back in the day, but feels considerably dated. Still, one of the most imaginative sequels ever though.

I'm divide on 1 and 2, their tied. Both great films and both great at different aspects. Personally love the whole Kapraesque feeling of the second film.

The term or how it is applied to the film?

EDIT: Spelling mistake. Capraesque. The tone of a Frank Capra-type film (most notably 'It's a Wonderful Life')

Found this short description on the net which basically sums it up:

Asked in one of the extras if Frank Capra was on his mind when he filmed the first sequel, Zemeckis responded that Capra is always on his mind. In Back to the Future II, when an enterprising Marty buys a sports almanac that's pilfered by an older Biff Tannen (who also snatches the DeLorean for a while), altered events create an alternate reality that Marty witnesses when he returns to 1985 and gets a George Bailey-like glimpse of the Hill Valley he thought he knew. Like Pottersville, which had become shockingly corrupt without George's It's a Wonderful Life influence, the Vegas-style Tannen Town is toiletsville, all because of Tannen's abuse of time-travel.

Also check out the BTS of BTTF 2 on the dvd to see exactly WHY this is the best sequel ever.

i cant believe people didnt like part 3. part 3 was bloody great. MJ fox did some funny stuff playing his irish ancestor, and then Mad dog tannen, hilarious.

love the part when he starts moonwalking after being shot at by mad dog tannen.

part 1 is still the best though, 2nd is a great sequel, and part 3 is really just a great sci fi western.

we got a bit of everything, the past, present and future,

great movies, just a shame they took down all the BTTF rides at Universal studios,

that was a real shame!

Obviously the first is the best. But am I the only one who liked 3 over 2?

No, I agree.

Whilst BttF2 was technically better and more imaginative, I personally find it quite dark, and therefore find BttF3 more fun and entertaining.

The first Back to the Future is a great movie. It's not only a great sci-fi movie, but a great tale about standing up for yourself and pursing your dreams. Plus, it had one of the great movie scenes:

Back to the Future, Part II is also a great movie but not as good as the original. However...it IS the most socially influential of the three movies. Every kid who grew up in the `80s is still waiting for a Hover Board! :cmad:

Back to the Future, Part III is extremely underrated. I love this final installment. Perhaps because I'm a western fan. Also, I loved Doc Brown's love story and felt that Mad Dog Tannon was more badass than Biff. :o
